IT Operations Administrator: The role

You keep our people, devices and Microsoft 365 running and secure. You handle support, set up and manage devices with Intune, look after accounts and access, and watch for security issues. You follow clear written procedures, and you write new ones when something is missing.

What you will do

Every day

• Help staff in Canada and India with sign-in, Outlook, Teams, printers, TaxCycle and Caseware issues, remotely.
• Check Microsoft Defender alerts, risky sign-ins, quarantined emails and failed app installs.
• Look into suspicious emails staff report (phishing, fake invoices, email bombing).

Every week

• Manage devices and apps in Intune: app updates, Windows update rings, compliance, devices not checking in.
• Manage accounts, groups and Teams access in Entra ID and Exchange.
• Assign and remove Microsoft 365 licences.

Every month

• Security review: MFA coverage, admin roles, old accounts and devices, Secure Score.
• Check that every PC is up to date and that backups can be restored.
• Send the Head of Tech a short report: tickets, incidents, devices, costs.

Onboarding and offboarding

• New hire: account, licence, groups, laptop set up with Autopilot, MFA, apps.
• Leaver: block access the same day, recover or wipe the device, remove licences.

Your first 3 to 6 months

• Upgrade our Windows Home PCs to Windows Pro and join every PC to Entra ID.
• Roll out Microsoft Defender to all company devices.
• Rename every device to our naming standard (GG-01, GD-01, OSIX-01).
• Replace or upgrade the remaining Windows 10 PCs.
• Set up MFA for everyone and help put sign-in rules in place.
• Support the move of our two offices to Teams Phone.
• Write our IT procedures: onboarding, offboarding, new laptop, suspicious email.

What you bring

• 1 to 2 years in IT support or helpdesk, ideally in a small office.
• Excellent Verbal and communication skills. Proficient in English.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 admin (Exchange, Teams, Entra ID).
• Experience with Intune, or a clear path to it.
• Comfortable doing support remotely (Quick Assist, Remote Help).
• Clear written English. You document what you do.
• Careful with client data. You follow procedures and ask before risky changes.

Nice to have

• Microsoft certifications: MD-102, MS-102, MS-900 or SC-300.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Business.
• Some PowerShell or Microsoft Graph scripting.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related technical field.
• 2-3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, desktop support, or IT operations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Outlook, Teams, Exchange Online, and licence management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), user accounts, access permissions, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Basic hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows device management, application deployment, and system updates.
• Understanding of endpoint security, Microsoft Defender, phishing detection, and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows devices, software installations, email, and connectivity issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to support employees remotely across different locations and time zones.
• Ability to document technical procedures, maintain accurate records, and follow established security protocols.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a responsible approach to handling confidential company and client data.
• Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, MD-102, or SC-300 are an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of PowerShell scripting or Microsoft Graph is desirable.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
