They do very illegal things. Want you to lie about calling in vehicles on time, stashing vehicles to get a bunch at once even at night. They have undocumented employees working the yard/shop. Laws don't matter to them. Everything negative you hear about them is true . They need to be shut down. I personally left because morally was wrong

Wouldn’t recommend to a enemy to work or use them for their services

Reallly, where to start... The owner, who is also the manager, has zero concerns to the safety of his employees, sends out operators in units that have had safety devices removed/ dismantled, and often with next to no training to do jobs. And yelled at when they have problems, or even fired on the spot. Owner likes to have as little communication between drivers as possible, and shows no interest in fair treatment of employees. Has mini temper tantrums, and the next minute wonders why you have a issue. His ex wife runs the office, and all to often the employees get caught into their mind games they play back and forth. Best part as the being on call 24/, but only paid by the minute on jobs, so you never can count on a consistent pay. So fun to play... will I be working today... as shop time can often not be available that day. Personally benched over Christmas break over voicing safety concerns with sending one operator out to do a recovery that would take two, and no blocking vehicles. Expecting the driver in the ditch, to help him pull lines off the tow truck. Putting the driver of both trucks safety on the line. But then denied pay for holidays, because I hadn’t worked the week prior( according the gov.ca they are allowed to) Honestly I could go on with the stories, in the year I was there, no kidding, seen at least 75 people come and go, I’m a very easy going guy, but this guy will ride every verve in your body. Oh, and he doesn’t run a 24/7 show as advertised, only for his contact clients, and they were even finding other companies to tow for them... so.  -

Might make some money with twice the grief, everyone is normally happy to see the tow truck guy

Boss, pay, quality and safety of equipment

Working here was a great experience, and all of their equipment is clean, organized, and always works. If it's not, you can count on that changing real quick. My $/hr was fair, but I was not paid to be on call. It was almost impossible to make plans, murphys law, as soon as you made plans after waiting for a call all day you'd get called in. The one manager was a solid guy, the owner was fine as long as you didn't mess up. I wasn't trained properly at all, and was giving wrong instructions on how to complete a tow job which led to a disaster. I wouldn't work here again, but he runs a tight ship and if you don't mind being some less than kind words when you mess up, it's not the worst place I have worked.

Great Place to work

Overall the experience there was great. We had a very busy area for American Automobile Association's member to be serviced and we were very fast paced. The hardest part was calculating distances and time of travel in high traffic times

meeting new cultures

Tow operators see it all

Responsible for helping displaced drivers through the AAA contract dispatchers. Changed tires, lockouts, gas, jump start, rain sleet or snow was just some of the responsibility included with being a tow operator.

Wheat old broken-down cars also had the Police contract so we also work accidents and in pounds

My office was a tow truck I spend anywhere from 8 to 15 hours a day in that truck along with my duties and making sure the yard was clean and all cars were in place and in the inventory so we could find them

Good boss fun environment

Long hours working in all-in weather conditions
