Got email from Amazon recruiter saying confirming my selection. I resigned from my current company and confirmed a date of joining. But recruiter said they are now initiating background check and then they will release offer letter. However i did not recieve any email from third party for background check?. How long does this process take. Should the resignation be submitted afte the BG is cleared? Please advise.

May be due to Covid situation it is taking time. However you can contact the HR. BG takes time. But I would suggest you can have a word with HR
