Pros - Game changing HSA architecture development - Industry changing PC architecture after 40 years - Latest and best technology nodes - Focus on low power techniques Cons - Rewards and Returns are not the best sometimes - Career paths and ability to change tracks or functions is not very well documented - Branding is very poor - Culture and ownership needs to improve Advice to Management Technically seems one of the best product company, but retaining and nurturing senior talent, esp in High value geographies needs to improve a lot. Needs to become a lot flexible and create career rotation opportunities. Finally return on investment for leadership roles during APU developments needs to improve, in terms of recognition, benefits and policies Needs to review management functioning style for high value geographies

Company : Advanced Micro Device (AMD) R&D, Hyderabad.Designation: Software Quality Engineer.Division: New Product Introduction & Software Quality Assurance (NPI & SQA)Description:Testing the Graphical Device Interface on PC for AMD Display Drivers. The Display driver is a software application for manipulating many of the hardware's functions, such as 3D settings, monitor controls, video options and Virtual screen management. The role of NPI SQA is to assist in the validation of the quality expectations of a project deliverables prior to its release to external customers(sampling deliverables, production deliverables). NPI SQA is responsible for running WHQL certification for new device ID.The goal is to ensure that for a new product, all baseline & all new features works as excepted and for a new feature, all applicable products are works as excepted.
