Great people to work with but poor benefits
Business Development Manager (BDM) (Current Employee) - Southwest - June 27, 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhoever is in charge of acquiring and negotiating health insurance from insurers should be replaced. Clear Captions health benefits are one of the worst in the industry. Go work somewhere else if you want good health benefits.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Not enough gas allowance; low pay; so-so incentives.

Good Interview Process, Really Good First Month.
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Remote - September 18, 2023
1. A typical day at work: I log in, check emails, get ready for meetings, look at what didn't get finished last week that carried forward to this week, and what was planned for this week. Then just Get-R-Done! 2. What you believe you learned: Uses in the technical products and software and how its utilized to make people's lives better and connect with loved ones and the world really. 3. Management: Good management culture, they work together at the managerial level to ensure they are helping their workforce do their best and are plugged into the culture and are mindfl of the vision and mission of the company. The Why are we doing what we are doing and for whom. 4. Workplace culture: Really good, everybody is chill and relaxed and care about what they are doing and focused on moving the needle and getting things done on-time but right. 5. The hardest part of the job: Learning the culture, aligning with the vision and mission and GOST framework, and learning and understanding the processes and way that work is done. 6. The most enjoyable part of the job: The people, you actually like the people you will be working with and will definitely laugh during meetings. You can get so much done when you are in a good team environment.
Pros
Great Onboarding Process, Company has a great vision and mission to help people that are hard of hearing and aged, Doing the right thing and quality is highlighted above profits and ease
Cons
- Nothing noteworthy comes to mind after being here 30 days. - If you are not a nice person (mean), or don't treat people with respect & dignity, you won't last long here. Psychos and toxic people need not apply, they try to ensure a good working environment is maintained.

Easy going job
Captioning Agent (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - May 29, 2023
Great job for introverts. Desk job with no customer interaction. You wear a headset and listen to phone calls as you repeat the other party's words into the microphone which populates captions on the screen of the clear captions phone user. very casual work environment and dress code.
Pros
great for introverts, little interaction with others, very casual work environment
Cons
repetitive, stuck at desk

They need help with the Training
CEX customer support representative (Current Employee) - Work from home - May 18, 2023
Although this company claims to have desire to help the elderly they don't want anybody working there that's older and they claim to want to help you and they're not going to leave you behind their training is extremely flawed

It is all a facade
Customer Service Representative/ T1 Support (Current Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - April 16, 2023
The management changes things every day, sometimes a few times a day. The communication is not good amongst departments. You are expected to meet extremely unrealistic expectations out of the gate with poor training. The pay does not add up with your responsibilities, there is no grace period to clock in, no grace with being sick unexpectedly even with a doctors note or family tragedy, you will still accrue points on your record that take 6 months to fall off. The resources for doing your job are inaccurate most of time no matter who you speak to. You are definitely just a number here and that is pretty clear out of training as well. The atmosphere at first seems very inviting and promising but soon you will see the truth, it won't take long! I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to work here, the level of toxicity amongst departments is just insane and I would say more but it wouldn't be nice. I am stressed out daily by this job me and many others that I work with who are all actively seeking new employment, please don't waste your time! You complain about things and nothing changes, they openly admit this as well that it just is what it is, per management. Great place to be...
Pros
I like my schedule time and days off
Cons
The job itself is just not a peaceful place

Beware of positive reviews
Marketing Specialist (Former Employee) - Remote - March 1, 2023
While working for CC, I witnessed multiple campaigns by to incentivize current employees to leave a positive workplace review. Turnover here is higher than any other business of its size. Leadership is aware of the turnover, but does nothing to fix it. This company does not care about DEI. Look up their leadership team and you will see a pattern.

Unrealistic expectations/product failure
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Sacramento, CA - January 5, 2023
Unorganized, unrealistic goals you’re required to maintain/hit and you wear too many hats for what you get paid. If you can’t keep customers enrolled it counts against you but their phones suck so bad and have so many issues that old ppl don’t want to keep them. You are on call 24/7 dealing with elderly and ppl who are not tech savvy and call you for every little hiccup and you’re required to drive out to service their phones as well as find ways to hold events to sign up new clients. Elderly ppl are not as easy sale

Engineering (Former Employee) - Roseville, CA - December 12, 2022
Standard benefits and ok pay. Heavy top of management and power struggles between managers and management levels. Turn over seems high and some people do not like it.
Pros
Paid benefits
Cons
Politics

Productive, Repetitive, Real People
Technical Support Representative (Former Employee) - Roseville, CA - December 1, 2022
I could never say enough good things about the management and supervision at CC-LLC. They saw me through horrible times and let me heal. The job was very difficult for the money and grew harder every week. As they added more to an impossible pace.
Pros
Great People
Cons
Remote so, it's hard to know the great people

Senior Mgmt tries to take care of its people
Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (Former Employee) - Roseville, CA - September 13, 2022
Overall Senior Mgmt is doing a good job running the ship and trying to take care of its people. Middle Mgmt is a mess, teams are siloed, and no real Quality Control Testing, just 'How Many' not 'How Good'
Pros
Freedom of schedule, All the work you can handle plus twice as much more
Cons
Trying to run entire company like a NOC, QA Testing is about How Many not How Good, Developers develop in Prod, dont follow any rules or SDLC at all

October 14, 2022Thank you for sharing your experience, we greatly value and appreciate your point of view as a trusted former member of the team. We are thrilled that you believe senior management is good at running the ship and taking care of its employees. We agree and take great pride in our team, thank you. We also understand we have some work to do in helping our new leaders learn the ropes and continue to grow. Leadership development is an active initiative for the company, and we are putting resources and steps in place to improve our new leader resources. High turnover. Poor management, low wages
Inside Sales (Current Employee) - Remote - August 11, 2022
The company has a very high turnover rate for good reason. The employees are underpaid and management is poor at best. They say the focus is customer based but the customer service is lacking due to lack of training and support. The only perk to working for ClearCaptions is the opportunity to work remote.

Great company culture with passionate team members
Marketing Department (Current Employee) - Remote - July 22, 2022
I really love the company dynamics. Even though most of us are all remote I feel that HR and the culture crew does a fantastic job trying to include everyone in fun activities via Slack or in-person events if available. Management makes you feel comfortable and I feel that I can truly voice my opinions and continue to share ideas and feel supported. The pay is fair and the benefits are great! I can confidently say that this is the best company I have worked for by far. The mission is great - helping people with hearing loss communicate on the phone more easily and everyone seems to go above and beyond for customers and creating processes that make adoption easier for everyone - internally and externally.

Worked when they started up/ went downhill fast
Territory Sales Manager - Title 4 ADA Specialist (Former Employee) - Roseville, CA - May 11, 2022
As one of the first five territory managers it was a great place to work. As time went on benefits were reduced and removed, quotas were raised, commission was harder to attain. I’m sad that they didn’t keep the culture they began with because it was amazing. In the beginning we felt important to the culture. No longer.
Pros
Standard IRS mileage reimbursement, resonable expectations with hours of driving time
Cons
Started strong then lost a key VP, the culture ended up like other mediocre businesses.

Terrible Corporate Greed
Current Employee (Current Employee) - Roseville, CA - March 31, 2022
This company is terrible to work for. They look for people with exceptional skills and talent and then work them to the bone with no compensation. I have worked for this company multiple years and have NEVER received a raise. They recently started implementing one of the strictest attendance policies I have ever seen. It is incredibly ableist and not family friendly and when confronted with negative feedback regarding this policy they doubled down and refused to make meaningful changes. Their HR department is incredibly unprofessional and any advancement opportunities come with a tremendous increase in workload with very little raise in pay. DO NOT WORK HERE!
Pros
Provide work equipment
Cons
No raises, Bad Healthcare, Not receptive to feedback

Remote working with collaborative teams
Marketing Manager (Current Employee) - Remote - October 13, 2021
I'm partial to the Marketing team cause they are AWESOME! I've been here a year now truly enjoying the collaboration, the culture and the opportunities I have to learn and grow. The company is growing fast and while there are a few speed bumps overall this is one of the best places I've ever worked! They pay is good and the benefits are great! In my one year so far, I've been able to create and build meaningful programs, implement strategies and develop skills that boost my career. I also get to see how valuable our caption phone is to our customers through communication with our customer service and sales teams. We do change lives! It's rewarding to hear each customer's story and to connect them to their loved ones with whom they haven't communicated in years.
Pros
Remote work
Cons
Growing Pains

Fantastic service improving the lives of those with hearing loss.
Territory Manager (Former Employee) - Birmingham, AL - July 21, 2021
I was a Territory Manager with ClearCaptions. The work I did in the community and with the population that is affected by hearing loss was very rewarding. Watching someone be able to hear more clearly on the phone and read what the other person is saying via the captions was extremely satisfying. My direct manger(s), I had quite a few during my time there, were good people, supportive and good at their jobs. Corporate is a different story, often seeming disconnected from the employees in the field, making questionable decisions and promising improvements to the technology that missed the projected timeline by years.
Pros
Complete control of your schedule and good direct-managment support.
Cons
Corporate disconnect and slow to improve the technology.

Pros
working with Seniors
Cons

Management
Management has no idea how to run a business. Mistake upon mistake upon mistake. The head of marketing has introduced at least 8 pieces of marketing material that are occupying landfills throughout the US.
Pros
The management support team is like being at a sorority house.
Cons
Management at all levels.
