CUSAT is a Government Organisation and a well known University in India. The work culture is as that of a typical government organisation's. A pretty good place to work.

Fun Workplace

A great place to work but uncertainty was high. Very few people are made permanent, rest of the people are working on temporary contracts. Work hours are flexible.

My work place is a good learning environment for me

A typical day of my work in this institution starts at 9 AM and completes at 4 PM with a lunch break of one hr. I will have two to three hrs of work and at least 3 hrs of preparation needed for taking classes. Being engaged from the time work starts we have no time to think about anything other than work. I could understand my area of research more deeper and deeper as day passes by. I being a contract staff have very little interactions with the management. The hardest part of the job is the preparation and planning and teaching is the enjoyable part.

Pros

Flexibility in timings and pressure free environment

Cons

Temporary appoinment
