Challenging yet meaningful work. You have an assigned caseload, you see the clients where they receive support and provide case management services. Benefits could be better.

Good company overall
Support Coordinator (Former Employee) - Winder, GA - December 19, 2019
Company values employees in general, provides adequate time off, good benefits, and regular employee appreciation. General cons are more likely due to state requirements.

cold and harsh. Agency failed to follow proper protocol when it came down to staff being related to one another; not professional.
Therapist (Former Employee) - Manalapan, NJ - September 5, 2019
Please see above.
Initially, a good number of referrals. However, when there is a problem, executive staff quickly distances themselves even when your cleared of all allegations, or complaints by the board, etc. The once supportive group of people that you thought you had is now cold and dismissive. So when things are good it’s good but let their be a problem your on your own and they will humiliate you.
Pros
Paid well at time
Cons
Cold and harshfsce

Great Place to work
Support Coordinator (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - April 20, 2018
This a great job for a single parent who needs flexibilty in their schedule, works better with a flexible schedule but most of all has the heart and compassion to work with those with developmentap disabilties. The first 3 months you are assigned a mentor and are trained to do the job before you go out on your own. At first it will be stessful because you will be on the mentors schedule but just get throught it because there is light at the end of the tunnel. The management is professional and they do whatever they can to help their staff learn. Its a independent job in some ways but management is always willing to advise and assist where needed. This is not a sink or swim agency. They train their staff and they are constantly monitoring to ensure staff is doing their job even above what the state requires and will retrain if needed. Its one of the best support coirdinator agencies to work for and they work as a team. You will have to keep up with constant changes in state policies which seem to happen weekly and can be stessful but you will have to be a person that can roll with the punches.
Pros
Flexible
Cons
Constant change in state policies

Pretty decent job
Support Coordinator/Case Manager (Former Employee) - Winder, GA - August 25, 2017
You make your own schedule with a caseload of up to 40. You must be very organized or it will drive you insane. There are some weeks that may require saturday's as that may be the only time a family or staff person can meet.

The ability to work from home is an amazing benefit to this job. The management are helpful and kind. We work as a team to do what is best for those people we support.
The hardest part of the job is all the changes that occur outside of CCS' control.
Pros
Work from home, decent compensation
Cons
Stressful when things change without warning

Working from home
Support Coordinator (Former Employee) - Atlanta, GA - June 21, 2015
A typical day at work included visiting with clients in various environments to ensure overall safety of individuals served, completing Individual support plans, working with community members, providing follow up for medical needs, etc. Maintaining a schedule was very important as you had to meet several dead lines to maintain services. Keeping an open line of communication with other community members is important for the individuals inclusion within the community. Management was assessable and ready to assist when needed. Developing and keeping to a regular schedule was important for continuous care of the individuals served. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the individuals thrive.
Pros
Free medical insurance for staff
Cons
Mileage not paid to staff.

Productive and rewarding place to work
In-Home Clinician (Former Employee) - Woodbridge, NJ - April 3, 2013
Very flexible work schedule; however you can easily get unbalanced when it comes to work and personal life, as its in-home work and you can have your first client at 8am and your last at 8pm. Management is great and very understanding. You learn a lot when it comes to the field and learning new therapy techniques. But it's always rewarding when you see your client's progress.
Pros
hourly rate is good
Cons
no healthcare
