Culture is completely different while compared to other competitive companies.No worklife balance and always bit challenging for a mother to accompany baby and work. No flexibility from the management.

I often learn something new everyday. My experience as an intern is filled with lot of learnings and fun. Very helpful team mates and inclusive work environment.

My experience has been pretty good, flexible working hours and good attention to inputs. Although I will say your experience will largely depend on the team culture and business particulars.

Competitive, lot of learning but can be hectic

It's a leading brand with lot of talented peers and world class practices to learn from. The work culture is very competitive and there may be long hours of work at times.

Excellent people and excellent management. You will have a clear understanding of your growth and projects. Fairly good compensation. Not much to learn compared to other product-based firms.

Pathetic experience

No transparency people are promoted based on who is managers favourite. They don’t appreciate the hard work you put in. They don’t care about the employee turn over rate and will pile work on you.

Intellectually rewarding and fast-paced work environment

Working at Goldman Sachs is extremely intellectually rewarding and presents tremendous learning opportunities, be it in the form of challenging analytical/business problems or collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry.

Good employer for rapid growth

If you seek growth opportunities, Goldman can provide. Not a bad place to get some experience, and the brand name is good enough to get in the door of big tech/HFT. Offers lower compensation as compared to tech industry. Not mindful of timezone differences. Very poor developer experience. Office politics is unavoidable. Engineering is second class citizen compared to rest of firm. No real benefits/perks. Lack of PMs - half the job of engineers is to understand finance concepts from uncooperative finance users.


Projects can have good visibility, autonomy

Great place, good comp, great management

GS is a growth oriented firm and have a wide spectrum of business. Latest tech stack, great management and good compensation form the key components.Lot of opportunities for Internal mobility

Very stressful environment and no work life balance

No worklife balance and very stressful environment. Those who can do buttering they will be promoted. Long working hours. Inspire of getting good feedback from the client, manager will feel that you still need to work more

Highly toxic and biased workplace.

Some people do really well here , no doubt. But if you have strong principles of not “xxx” licking, not ‘showing’ you did something just to get into the limelight, then you have a challenge. You need to keep the right people happy, be a yes person and rock at office politics. I wasn’t good at any of these … so it didn’t work for me.

Work Life Balance is a big problem

You wont get time to eat food or go to washroom. The initial learning curve is too steep. No body will teach you but you need to know everything. No transition period or trainings. People are too rude and no body is actually ready to help. Although the salary is best in the market but you wont be get time to spend what you earn. Leave policy is just for name sake. No complementary off for working on weekends.

Great company with the flat hierarchy

Good compensation and flat hierarchy. single person will be tagged to multiple projects. All deadlines are extremely close. They use very old technologies.
