Good employer for rapid growth
Software Engineer (Current Employee) - India - June 11, 2022
If you seek growth opportunities, Goldman can provide. Not a bad place to get some experience, and the brand name is good enough to get in the door of big tech/HFT. Offers lower compensation as compared to tech industry. Not mindful of timezone differences. Very poor developer experience. Office politics is unavoidable. Engineering is second class citizen compared to rest of firm. No real benefits/perks. Lack of PMs - half the job of engineers is to understand finance concepts from uncooperative finance users.
Pros
Projects can have good visibility, autonomy
Cons
Long hours, legacy tech stack, disparity in compensation, strict RTO, ban on trading stocks

Work Life Balance is a big problem
Analyst (Current Employee) - Mumbai, Maharashtra - March 31, 2022
You wont get time to eat food or go to washroom. The initial learning curve is too steep. No body will teach you but you need to know everything. No transition period or trainings. People are too rude and no body is actually ready to help. Although the salary is best in the market but you wont be get time to spend what you earn. Leave policy is just for name sake. No complementary off for working on weekends.

Zero Work Life Balance
Vice President (Current Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - August 10, 2021
Within few days of joining GS I understood I made a big mistake joining this firm. People are arrogant here and there is too much of politics and favourism. The only positive here is Salary and Bonus, if you are ready to slog 14hrs/day then GS is the place for you.
Pros
Salary
Cons
Long Hours

Good place to work
Analyst (Former Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - May 28, 2021
Its a place where you can learn and grow while getting good salary. Scale up your employees’ happiness by citing the positive impact that his or her work bought. Employees will feel more gratified when they realize the worth of their work.

No work life balance
Associate - Client Onboarding (Former Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - October 27, 2020
An organization that pays you well but also squeezes time out of your life. No work life balance at all due to super long working hours. A normal working day is always 12+ hours and without any extra pay for the hours churned at work.
Pros
Yearly bonus, lots of learning opportunities
Cons
Long working hours, gossip culture

I felt lucky to work with and MNC investment bank which is among top 3 in the world.
IT Analyst (Former Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - September 18, 2020
Work Is bit stressed as my team was handling with the Transaction department.
I would say Job security will be great only if you are or become permanent employee of GS.. and it's not really easy for a contractor to get converted to GS employee compared to other IT companies.
Pros
Good Salary package and also the management
Cons
No job security for contract workers

Good organization if you get in right team
ANALYST DEVELOPER (Former Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - March 4, 2020
Lots of learning opportunities, but work culture is not good. It depends on the team. But only work and no fun. Salary is good if you can negotiate. A lot of interview rounds can leave you exhausted

Learning attitude is important
Senior Financial Analyst (Former Employee) - Bangalore, Karnataka - February 27, 2020
Flexible to adapt in the changes. In a short span of time you will learn a lot professionally and personally.
Depending on the team members the environment creates usually in any workplace.
You should always have learning attitude by managing your day to day work.
Pros
Salary
Cons
Internal Gimmicks

No work life balance
DATA ANALYST, INVESTMENT BANKING (Former Employee) - India - February 4, 2020
The culture is quite formal and working hours are fixed with almost no work from home option. Hike at the end of year is minimal and not great even for excellent performers, if you are in a good division then you will get good bonus otherwise that;s also scanty
