The work is very very repetitive but the pay is great. The management is fair but they really only care about numbers and production. Most of the equipment is very out date and broken and maintenance doesn't really fix it they just rig it up so it works for a few more days then it breaks down again.
Pay and Benefits
Repetitive, Shift work
Awesome schedule. Plenty of OT if you want it. Pay is very good, especially compared to the local cost of living. And some of the best benefits you could ask for and then some.
Work culture, schedule, the people, and the non mundane experience of always learning something new
contractor wages (when non-Goodyear)
Fulfilling environment. I may go home tired but I know I did something worthwhile for myself, my company, my community, and society.
Coming from a job with mandatory overtime (64 hours per week minimum) with horrible hourly pay and rotating shifts to unlimited voluntary overtime (36 hours per minimum) with double the last jobs hourly pay and rotating shifts I am ecstatic. Only required to work 14 days a month which is great if you want to spend time with family or you can work all the overtime you want if needed. This is a physically taxing job but you get used to it. This is a great opportunity and great potential career. People that say otherwise don't know any better and take it for granted or are lazy. I've worked much harder for much less pay and appreciation. I'll cherish being blessed this opportunity to support and spend lots of time with my family and I won't lose any sleep because others don't. Unless you are just thrown in to a golden situation like a trust fund or other unlikely scenarios, you won't get a much better deal without a degree. The military won't provide you with this balance of financial security and time off with family. Been there.
Great pay and plenty of time off.
Can be physically taxing.
The work itself is physical and tiring but not that bad once used to it. The work to life balance is terrible even though you only work 14 days a month.
Good pay, and benefits.
No work life balance. Have to know someone to get promoted or even interview for management.
Show up for shift and just do your job and nothing else, do not worry about telling managers or other employees if there is a problem because they wont care anyways. Build tires and nothing else, they don't even care how you do it or what stock you use. Just pump out volume. Anything not nailed down will be stolen, and when your machine breaks you will be left standing alone waiting hours for repairs, but still liable for missed production. Take your breaks if you get a chance and when you get back the machine will be messed up so good luck.
Great schedule with pretty decent pay
Zero support from staff and everyone is just out for themselves.
There are only managers out there, no leaders. They will contradict themselves on polices. Quantity is over everything even quality. Get numbers no matter what. Also they have become so top heavy with clueless managers and corporate workers that the builders and workers are under constant fire. It’s a miserable place.
Money is all
Everything but money

It’s definitely not work for the weak management (not shift or department managers) but the higher ups suck they never do our jobs on the floor and expect things that we’ll just simply can’t happen
Pays the bill medical dental vision 401k
Like being in high school all over again
The job is stressful, demanding, and contains no work/life balance. Limited opportunities for advancement. Production work at this job contains no sense of purpose. Job duties and experience are maximized after a 3 to 4 years. Therefore it becomes repetitious and uninspiring.
Very hard work until you can bid to another job, 1st job usually one of the harder jobs in the plant. They work a mini vacation schedule, 12hr rotating shifts. The plant now operates to budget, and training does not have a budget, so training could be a lot better. You spend more time with your co-workers than you do with your family. On days/nights you work don't plan on doing anything else. If you do go to work there make sure you get plenty of rest, trying to work 12hrs around industrial equipment without proper rest is an accident waiting to happen.
It was All buddy buddy oriented and tons of harassment. People were taking so many pain meds that they couldn't think properly!!! If you didn't belong to the group they shunned you.The managers had contests on how many people that they could fire a day!
Goodyear is a great company for anyone with a good work ethic and ambition. Payscale from day one is a livable wage with plenty of opportunities to improve vocational skills
Salary, benefits, opportunities
Rotating 12 shift work is 80% of jobs. This is difficult for msny.
Great Company to work for. Goodyear is family friendly. They work with you. They have great benefits and facilities. The Management team is amazing and very professional. The employees are happy and work in a great environment. Love this company.
Benefits are great price.
Wow, I can't think of one.
Excellent place to work. I enjoyed working for Goodyear. The people there are second to none but at times the direction seemed lacking and upper management was indecisive without explanation. Overall a great place to work! Wouldn’t trade it for the world but had to move on to further my career and bolster my experience.
