Salary increments and Bonuses are NOT given in this company. No employee satisfaction and motivation. The decisions and career growth are purely Manager Driven. Certifications are given once in a Blue moon. All laid back people will enjoy here
No salary hike and bonuses
When the management is smart, they get what needs to be done. However a lot of managers in Western countries do not let go of their biases about Indians not doing quality work even though one would prove otherwise numerous times. Teams especially in UK are extremely wary of seeing their peers or reports from India perform well even to the detriment of the project..
Strong values and process driven organization however at times becomes bureaucratic. Also HR not that effective as overall extremely manager driven systems ad processes so experiences hugely vary based on manager
I had wonderful experience in overall working with IBM, but only one people manager Ms.Mamta saksena had created lots of problem, during my work, as she was a lady i could not do much except leaving the place under her. She has misguide me, wrong performance rating, shifting to odd project etc. But thanks to working with IBM, I really like the place.
IBM is very flexible and is a great place to work if you are willing to work hard . You can change roles within the company that broadens your knowledge. It also allows you to to do strech assignments which allows you to learn more about a skill you would like to develop.

While IBM is an iconic brand, unfortunately the management at IBM India is myopic in vision and believes that employees will just stay because of brand name. There is no strategy to re-skill or educate employees. Managers believe in competing with their reports to take credit for work that the reports would have done.
