I had joined the navy as a Seaman (Hydrographic Surveyor), which is indeed a very adventures branch. Life as a naval personal and mostly a Hydrographic Surveyor is a very challenging job to do. After enrollment into the hydro branch you can not only learn about the seamanship part but also the lot of things about the navigating the ships or boats, surveying the uncharted seas, delineation of coastlines by walking as well as by helicopter and learning and working on the most advanced instruments of survey. And last but not the least, you can visit foreign countries.
Work place is good. Everyone has own goal and well disciple atmosphere . But for promotion lot of obstiacle and rules. Food and living space is average. Work culture at field area is Good. Lack of difference in facilities. Therefore can not do service for the long period if you are not Medically and physically fit.

Promotion and life style
There is no time to relax everything to be executed in timely and professionally. Learnt discipline ,work ethics and plan, execute and get the job done in required time frame without any hiccups. Been in-charge of four departments at a time for 36 months had to get things done in time frame where several organisations and departments involved.always enjoyed and shared professional expertise with co workers. Getting things done in time frame and to keep the morale of the subordinates and juniors in good spirits is challenging given the tough and harsh conditions of the sea and ship. What ever the conditions the small chats with colleagues and the time with laughter and fun was the most enjoyable part of the job and the joy when job done successfully and safe.
