The life is hard where you could go without a weekend for a month, spend frequent time at sea away from young family members, yet its a life of satisfaction, all round grooming and adventure, especially if in the executive departments

Don't work until and unless you were on government payroll. They treat you like a low worker don't motivate you or no salary growth on payroll of other company.
Indian Navy give the platform to the person to stay at any situation at any corner of the world. It give the ability to integrate the people from any religious, culture and environment.

Loneliness always been there. So not suitable for home sick people..Good for hungry people. Salary is normal as 7th pay commission and always on time. Overall moderate service.
The Indian Navy is a Military Service. Life in the Navy is very good, perform multi tasked work and sacrificed which will make you physically fit and mentally strong. It is not a job - it is Patrolism and integrity. Comparing with other fields, salary is less. But lot of benefits is there which you will not get anywhere. I am very proud to serve in Indian Navy for nation.

Joined in 2000 still at that time my salary was 3500 p/m ,but after almost 19 years its only 34,000...Wheares army ..And airforce..Railways employees are getting more then 50,000..Above..
It was a Govenment job with all the benefits one can think in those days about45 years back.It taught me the table manners.
Got different types of training . Gunnery, Communication, Torpedo antisubmarine and various other trainings in Naval Acadamy for two years.

The work culture at the Indian Navy is fantastic. The Indian Navy provides seamless possibilities / opportunities to all its officers / men to excel in the field of work as well as their choice of sport. It goes without saying that discipline is the backbone of the military. it is the discipline which provides much needed strength to the personnel from lower ranks to follow the orders of the commanding Officer / superior officer without thinking. However, the thinking is all supposed to be done by the commanding officer for whom the safety and well being of his men are of paramount importance. As can be seen, the entire structure of military works on faith and loyalty to one another. consequently, it can be appreciated that the people in the military does not lead a posh lifestyle but a confined and a decent one. The men are simple but hardworking and always ready to sacrifice their life for the safety of their motherland and its citizens. The training imparted to concentrate on attention to details is praiseworthy. One of the major learning for me has been the mastering of the multitasking skill. I was bestowed with multiple responsibilities / portfolios at the same time which helped me to master this versatile skill. The hardest part in the military service is that the structure is pyramidal in nature which forces some of the better performing personnel to stagnate in the rank which leads to their lower morale.
