The career progression is not great. The company benefits and salary are very good. But the stagnation in career and no growth prospects hinder someone with higher career aspirations.

My dream company to work for (I wish the dream came true😔)

First of all I would like to thank everyone in Indian Oil Area Office, Tinsukia, Assam where I've completed my 1 year apprenticeship. That one year was nothing sort of a blessing for me. All the employees starting from an office boy to the DGM made me feel like a family. It was like a dream, working with the people who treat you as their own family members. Apart from all these, I have also learnt every bit of work that was performed at the particular office. This one company remains my only dream company to work for in my life. I wish my job had become permanent in IOCL.

Lots of learning

Get to learn different functions of IOCL, their annual reports, balance sheets etc. Also learned feasibility analysis. Working in teams, making excel model, applying concepts like IRR, npv etc on practical basis.

Workplace environment is friendly. You will learn lot of new things by interacting with colleague. Management is supportive of engineers and encourages inventive thinking .Company housing is nearby and comfortable transportation for workplace.

Everything is to be done by officers and there is no support staff. Work load is extremely huge.

Its a time demanding job . You have to be on your toes round the clock if you are in retail. Its a customer orianted job . Its bit difficult to handle customer desk. Only your skills and patience makes you succeed.

All though it is one of the lead company in India but there is no work-life balance as a staff here for me, I need to be physically present all seven days of the week. Promotion policies are not good for workman.
