very insecure; no guarantee in job

Plant finance in-charge for Chennai plant (Former Employee) - Chennai - June 19, 2020

I have had worked for the Chennai manufacturing plant. plant closed/shut down abruptly. Management asked all of us to resign and promised a job whenever there is vacancy in other plant. after a year, there is lot of positions in other plants/corporate, but they never called. in fact they ignored our profiles when i sent/applied on line. said No when i call.

Their business model is very much prone to frequent uncertainties, frequent change of people. They fire people within hours. This has gone into their culture. Still, they win Employee of the year award...surprised Working here will be not like a MNC. No career growth Business is not growing consistently. They work on miniature cost reductions which is not at all expected from MNC. Firing people is a part of their cost reduction drive

As an ex-employee of Ingersoll Rand, I feel they follow more rules & does a lot of paperwork, instead of depending on new technological tools like mails, skype to communicate. Managers do a lot of show off at their workplace & ensure that juniors get a lousy treatment comparatively. Politics are to the core, which influenced me to move out of the organization.
