A march towards equality and a hiring drive especially for women – this is how Invesco Hyderabad celebrated a day dedicated to women. Invesco hosted a diversity walk within DivyaSree Orion premises near Raidurgam on the eve of International women’s day i.e. on 08th March, 2018 lead by Invesco women’s network (IWN) Hyderabad. The event witnessed the participation of 500 men and women from Invesco as well as from various organizations in the vicinity – NTT Data, Kony and Salesforce were part of the ‘Diversity Walk’ – A walk being organized by the Invesco Women’s Network (IWN) Hyderabad to celebrate International Women’s Day and at the same time sensitize participants about ‘Diversity & Inclusion’. Parvathi Sriram, (IWN Hyderabad chairperson), beamed, “IWN Hyderabad has made history by becoming a driving force to discuss ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ at a community level. We have led the efforts of creating a synergistic impact in the way our industry peers are thinking about this topic”. The management team kicked off the march after an energetic Zumba session. Excited and pumped up, participants began the walk. The IWN team had arranged for refreshments and goodies for all the participants. The Diversity Walk is just one of the ways of demonstrating our Invesco’s commitment to gender diversity. The Talent Acquisition team at Invesco also organized a special recruitment drive to commemorate International Women’s Day. Sixty four women were invited for the gender diversity focused hiring drive and were greeted with a rose, to make their day extra special. To celebrate the occasion, all women colleagues at Invesco were also given chocolates and a greeting card. International Women’s Day was indeed sweet! Let’s all hope that these committed acts to raise awareness about gender equality, diversity and inclusion lead to seismic shifts that will ultimately reset the gender equality landscape.
