It was great until it wasn’t.
Banker/Teller (Former Employee) - New Orleans, LA - December 8, 2023
Managers can be a bit pushy about adding new services and accounts even when it’s not the best fit for customers. I would frequently be asked to charge 80 and 90 year old clients $6 for monthly statements because they were unfamiliar with, unwilling, or unable to access the information online. my coworkers were great though.

Good Position, Make sure you work well with your manager
Lead Operations Associate (Former Employee) - Illinois - December 8, 2023
You get to help lead a branch. You will be the go to person if the branch manager is unavailable. The benefits are pretty good but pay is lower but they have been improving.

Good pay and benefits, job can be stressful
Senior Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Springfield, MO - December 8, 2023
I worked here for 5 years and the pay and PTO was decent. Management monitors your performance to make sure you meet your metrics. Back to back phone calls at busy times and rude customers can make it stressful at times.

Supportive yet demanding
Vice President (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - December 8, 2023
Over 15 years, have largely found very supportive leaders who show investment in your success, but requires consistent personal commitment on the employee as many managers have challenges of their own. High emphasis on self discipline to keep yourself on your career track but the opportunities for new roles, promotions and managing projects of interest at work are vast. Took one star away for discrepancies in office experience.

It can be a fun experience, you can dress casually, but it’s typical corporate culture.
Fraud Specialist I / Electronic Money Movement (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - December 7, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Teamwork and the culture within the team you work on. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? You’re essentially a number. Scheduling pto is a bit tough. You have to use sick time if there is no availability to schedule a segment off. Mental health is spoken of but not a priority. There is free therapy but if you’re genuinely broken your option is to use pto. If you have none you can take a leave but it’s unpaid. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Individual team culture can be amazing. Employee appreciation events, etc is often just free junk food and colorful decorations. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Work 2 hrs, 15 min break. Work 2 hours, lunch. Work 2 hours, 15 min break. Work 2 hours, go home.

Professional team and high level technology stock
VP (Former Employee) - Jersey City, NJ - December 7, 2023
It is all depends on the team and managers. It’s a big company, so working for one team and be happy within it might not be true for another. I was lucky to be part of Professional team, good managers

Great place to start your career
Marketing Manager (Former Employee) - New York, NY - December 6, 2023
I learned so much in 3 years at JP but I couldn't get past the below-market pay, office politics, and burnout. That being said, it's a great place to start your career and have on your resume.

Great place to work
Data Entry (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - December 6, 2023
While the work is fast pace and at time strenuous, its overall a good place to work as it easy to get use to and the managers and fellow employees are extremely kind and understanding.

You're just a number...
Talent Acquisition Specialist (Current Employee) - Plano, TX - December 4, 2023
They go on and on about culture and how important it is but literally have the worst culture. They treat their tenured employees the worst, often bringing on new employees with less experience for more money. Not a lot of growth opportunities unless your lucky enough to be in the inner circle. Senior leadership is horrible, they are clueless most of the time and really have no idea of how to do the jobs they manage. The list goes on, but overall ANY other bank will pay you more and probably have more growth opportunities. Everyone leaves and goes elsewhere for more money. Very high turnover, the clean house yearly it seems like and are constantly reorganizing.

Good entry level job
Personal Banker (Former Employee) - Peoria, IL - December 4, 2023
I had this job as an intro to financial services. I worked for 2 years and then went on to another company to become a financial advisor. The salary and commission were fair.

Good place to work
Banker (Current Employee) - Michigan - December 4, 2023
Good place to work with decent compensation. However, difficult to move within the company unless you know someone in another department. Benefits are great though.

Great pay but HORRIBLY managed and doesn't value your effort.
Credit Card Specialist (Former Employee) - Springfield, MO - December 4, 2023
Essentially being tasked to perform your duties without the proper tools, while bearing an extreme workload. Management is not there to help you really, they will pull you in for a 1 on 1 where you just get told what you're doing wrong, no actual help in how to improve in your position. With an insanely high turnover rate, it's no wonder that you really do feel like just a number here.
Pros
Great Pay and Benefits
Cons
High stress job, Bad management

Inclusive environment
My experience at JP Morgan Chase has been great overall. It is a welcoming and diverse environment. Decent job with great benefits and I like that mobility is heavily encouraged. The down sides are how hard it is to get a promotion and the strict rules about attendance, but that can be found at multiple companies. Overall I would recommend working here.

A Tech and IT sweatshop
DevOps CI Jenkins Engineer and Automated Test Developer (Current Employee) - Tampa, FL - December 3, 2023
I don't believe in the IT areas of the company I have ever seen a typical day at work. I must wear many hats daily and to earn a modest annual increase and I have worked there over 17 years. I am proficient in numerous development roles and have succeeded with managing large complex projects to the satisfaction of my manager and a large amount of application and infrastructure teams that depended on my success to perform their daily tasks. Management is ever changing and the company promotes laterally internal movement in position vs promotion earned. The most enjoyable part of the job has become an afterthought as the celebrations of an individual and small team accomplishment has become a verbal "at a boy!".
Pros
A never dwindling amount of work
Cons
No breaks, overloaded with work

Mixed emotions
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Heathrow, FL - December 1, 2023
The six week training process could have been truncated to four and the modules that they used didn’t build on each other so you were piecing together information as you went up until the middle of week 3. There was a mix of virtual training with a trainer in another state and in-class hands in learning which for the majority of the class I was in, proved to be most helpful. It’s somewhat difficult to “imagine” what the real life environment is going to look like based off screen shots provided in the virtual training and it began to be a bit boring and frustrating. I personally didn’t get scored as high in the training call quality sessions as I did in my actual production role but that was to be expected because I was facing a lot of challenges during training. I enjoyed the job for the amount of time that I was able to operate in the role until I began to suffer panic attacks and eventually a mental breakdown that caused me to have to take leave from work. It was stated in our benefits that mental illness was a covered disability and countless documents supporting my mental state were submitted to the division that handle disability claims but I was repeatedly denied and with the lack of income and ability to support myself in compounding with issues I was already struggling with, I ended up losing my car and eventually my home. There was a benefit that I was told to apply for that was supposed to help employees in my situation with financial assistance but I never heard anything back in reference to that either. I can say that the medical benefits are good because that’s -
Pros
Pay, benefits, Cafeteria and snack machines, supervisors are helpful after training, company events
Cons
Missing hot food if you work later shifts, work/mental health balance
