The Logistics business segment offers a challenge every single day and with it follows valuable learning and experience. There was a lot of learning about the shipping industry and associated documentation, business culture across countries. A typical day at Maersk would start with a Managers meeting with stakeholders from across the globe. Then followed by a quick review with the team members - procuring updates, planning strategies, etc. Then followed by the scheduled meetings wrt process improvements, etc.A mid shift reporting on the days volumes to review any changes required in the days strategy, etc and finally concluding the day with a debrief from the team members. The employee culture lacked customer centricity and written communication skill , which was a real need for the organisation. This led to workload spikes and thereby long hours to control the volumes. The most enjoyable part of the job was the learning about the logistics business and the sense of achievement once the employees gained knowledge of customer handling skills.
