Toxic Environment

When I initially joined the company, I was grateful for the support I received from a colleague who, unfortunately, later turned out to have betrayed my trust. This person, whom I had considered a close friend, took a different approach behind the scenes. They conveyed to our manager that I lacked the ability to contribute meaningfully, even going as far as questioning my coding proficiency.This situation took a significant toll on my confidence and well-being. It was disheartening to witness this colleague being praised for their work, ultimately leading to their mid-year promotion.What was even more distressing was the realization that they had been undermining me within the team, perpetuating a negative narrative that eventually led to isolation and ostracization from my colleagues.In the midst of this emotional turmoil, I sought professional help to cope with the escalating stress and anxiety. Consulting with a psychologist became a crucial step in managing the toll this experience was taking on my mental health. The impact on my personal life extended beyond the workplace, leading to a traumatic period that I am still working through.
