Better to work in practice offices. SDC are usually less equipped and all offshore transactional work is done. Growth only if you butter not of your skill set.
Great Time to work with PwC . PwC follow the professionalism culture in working style, the kind of training session are carryout for the employee to enhance their knowledge bucket is remarkable.
nice experience working with PWC team and learned a lot from senior people and systematic working. very big opportunities working with MNC clients and team,
Pros
nice
A lot of emphasis is given in values of firm and how can we deliver best quality to the clients.
Workforce is full with young employees and has lot of energy.
Its a fun place where people are very collaborative and supportive of each other's growth.
Lot of learning and development opportunities are available for employees to upskill themselves.
Good set of peers for healthy competition and learning, great variety in terms of project content and skills acquired on the go, stress on digital upskilling, occasional travel opportunities
A very calm and positive enviornment. You will be surrounded by intelligent business consultants and technology consultants working on advanced problem in AI, Analytics, Software, Microsoft ERP, SAP, etc. They follow the very easy to go and free to their employee. The feedback and team lunch was great fun there.
Wknd work - Expected to work over the weekends. Top Management in consulting (customer) is from outsourcing industry hence expectations are to work every weekend. Bullying and Politics - The partner is a bully. So is his team of directors and cronies who are into favoritism Lack of respect - No respect for managers and below. Rude behaviour with expletives given as a formal feedback. Quitting is normal - People quitting every 3rd week.
Pros
- Good Infrastructure - Great IT service
Cons
Wknd work, Bullying and Politics, Lack of respect (pwc customer consulting)
Learn a lot in PWC SDC regarding audit work. Good work environment specially for female employee . Very supportive colleagues specially in assurance .
Pros
Amazing employee benefits
Cons
long working hours
Management is not people oriented, Sometime it feels like a family business. No Protocol/process for appraisal, No-one follows metrics for fair evaluation. Its all upto your Manager's perception about you. Even if you have facts and figures to prove your point, you Manager is the final authority, you can not challenge that. Specially if you are part of Internal Functions like IT, HR, Quality Accounts Etc. in Fact Business/Project is not so different either. To conclude, Good If you are Slow paced, wants to settle down and have no plans for high speed career growth.
Pros
Chilled life, No Pressure, Employees welfare
Cons
unfair appraisals/promotions, Not so competitive salary, Slow Career Growth
Paid handsomely.. But work culture pathetic. No work life balance. No job distribution. No planning. Lobbying. You can survive only if you're in their lobby. Work culture is pathetic
Pros
Payment is good.
Cons
Other than salary everything pathetic.
We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best!
Do these reviews help you learn more about working at PwC?
it is fun working here in pwc, i learned a lot here mainly i learned how to deal with my weakness. this is because of my manger and colleagues. working here is obsolutely fun.
Pros
helpful colleagues
Cons
long hours
Get to know a lot of things about ms excel in Pwc sdc Kolkata. day starts at 9.30 am in the morning, management is not good. workplace culture is the best I have ever seen. the hardest part of the job is long working hours and work pressure during pressure period in assurance i.e. January February and March is too much to bear. the most enjoyable part is picking and drop facility.
Pros
free transport, work from home facility
Cons
workload and long hours and managment
It was best company to work for and the flexibility they provide. Transport facility is good and we are getting recognised at work we do. Allowances wil be provided
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Not Recognised
Tough environment with health at stake but excellent for learning and opportunities. Management is good and enough client facing roles but stringent working conditions.
Very hectic work schedule. no work life balance. though salary is not that bad but the management is not at all helpful. very bad politics and work culture
It is fun in office but at time very much stressful. The managers put alot of pressure on a person who works at lower level but at the same time also helps them to complete their work before deadline. People there are much more friendly but in the starting it would be difficult to jell up with people
No benefits for giving your extra efforts. People are really diplomatic. No use sacrificing your health for extra work. Sometimes people will be there to help.
Overall good. Practice wise cultural differences are there. But mostly too much of work. And it will be difficult to balance work and personal life. Overall 3 out of 5
Pros
Good learning curve
Cons
No time for self development
As opportunities are there for going on Secondment which enables you to grow as a person Professionally and Personally both. Also we can have good exposure in terms of Ind AS and IFRS experience.
Stressful and Competitive
Be always on the top of your game.
Biased and high handedness
Volatile and full of politics
Not being appreciated enough
Being paid handsomely
