Enjoyed my work with job satisfaction .worked in Indian Railway in various posts like Sr Section Engineer/ Diesel at various Diesel sheds of Indian Railways, as Sr Coaching Depot Officer to maintain passenger coaches, works manager/ wagon maintenance, Dy Chief Mechanical Engineer, and dealt with HR,stores,accounts, tender-contracts , Discipline and Appeal rules - acted as Investigating Officer (IO), Disciplinary Authority(DA) and were very challenging job . I have performed efficiently and enjoyed a lot till my superannuation.

As an officer, one is supposed to present 24*7 on duty, though physically present 8to 10 hours.

Good ammates are encouraging. However while taking job from you is a very unpalatable situation añd you have every freedom to act according to you. Training Generally no training is given. You have to learn from your peers and from old records. But one thing is felt best is when you take some initiative it is encouraging and welcomed by all. Job security- Job security is very secured and employees are free from such threat. Career growth - There are not so ample chances to advance forward. Hence you need to keep an eye when a chance comes.

Job culture in Railway is good and people are cooperative but stress due bad management. as system is old generation and political influence in new projects. so workers are less interested in invention for new technique.Even if some one do it higher authority discard him and try to take advantage of it.
