Good work but depends on management and location

The work itself is simple and doable. Truck days and backroom inventory are straightforward. However, your experience will depend heavily on your store manager's personality + policies, and the type of customers you get is affected by the store's location. If you work somewhere with particularly aggressive/demanding customers, it can become miserable.

Great Customers make work enjoyable

Good place to work. Can see where cuts need to be made to save money, but corporate will never listen to store level people. That's a shame, we know our customers. Money is not bad, never seem to have enough help. Regional Manager is not the greatest. Corporate says one things field people say another. Overall good place with great customers.

Productive Busy Workplace

Make sure to be able to multitask and be able to handle customers that would sometimes be rude to you over savings and wait time for items in security cases.

Good with a great team

Management is typical of a chain pharmacy but the team is what makes the environment enjoyable. This along with a great pharmacy software makes work fun but of course corporate is the typical corporate.

Dont work here

This company is going down quickly. They dont appreciate their employees at all, if anything they make it known they dont care about their employees. Serious lack of culture too at the 3 locations i got bounced around to. Severely underpaid and most of the time besides the pharmacy employees i was the only person there to run the store all day alone.

Toxic work culture

There are different stores I would rotate through, but this one particular has a lot of drama. Things I wouldn’t get involved in, but it provided a very uncomfortable work environment. There is one main problem at this store and HR won’t do anything about it no matter how many times other employees complain.

Productive and Fun Workplace

Worked here for a few years working my way up from sales associate to key holder. My supervisors were always helpful and worked around my school schedule.

interesting coworkers

They offered me a flexible schedule to fit my needs but still worked weekends occasionally. Everyone was friendly. Slow paced if that’s your thing and didn’t pay very well. Around Minimum wage for Cashiers.

Leader in our district is very caring and responsive , that is one thing I greatly value especially in today’s environment , they are extremely interested in helping the community around the store

Pros

Caring environment

Cons

More additional associate hours neede

Short staffed

You and a cashier at all times, that’s it . Leaves you to do all aspects of the job. Typical retail job . Salary , which means working days off , staying late .

Poor management

Overworked and the location is out of the way if you live in Baltimore. Poor management and high turnover. Strict breaks and micromanagement. Wouldn’t recommend

Unrealistic expectations

It was a fun experience only because of the staff and the customers but corporate expected us to keep good associates with minimum wage, 7.35hr at the time (pre-covid). We could really only get high school students and even then, the turnover was so high. I'm sure the pay has gone up even with the bankruptcy but still minimum wage=minimum effort.

Not the worst

Pay could definitely be better but it’s overall not to bad, it’s not super busy work like fast food is. But realistically minimum wage is not livable for anybody.

I enjoyed my time there

What is the best part of working at the company?Meeting and helping the customers What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Being on my feet and the constant bending. However, I enjoyed working the register What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment was okay, we got along by with each. We respected each other and each other’s values. What is a typical day like for you at the company? No longer employed there. When I was I worked in the Pharmacy department as a clerk. I would get prescriptions, when ready for pick up, file prescriptions, bag prescriptions, handled the register and assisted customers when looking for products.

It was okay until it wasn't

It was a terrible environment to work in. Retail alone is stressful, but retail pharmacy is a different ballpark. Customers berate you while the manager sits in the back until the situation has completely escalated or the customer is done cussing/threatening staff members. During the aftermath, the manager will check on you, but only to check if you can continue working because she thinks operating the cash register is beneath her. The pay is horrible, and the yearly 15-cent raises are insulting. Other retail jobs can pay more than $13-$15 for less stress. Sometimes work was fun, but $600 bi-weekly paychecks are not fun after a while. The ease of taking off work and switching around your schedule is one of the few perks of the job. PTO also accrues quickly. If you're looking for a job with flexible hours and need a little side cash, I say apply. If you need a job to support you to serve as your main income, don't bother.

Pros

Pto, flexible schedule, paid holidays

Cons

Short break, customers, poor management, lack of teamwork

Okay place to work

Store culture was relaxed. Employees worked hard and helped each other. Usually busy so day didn't drag on. Delivery day was definitely hard work. Received up to 14 pallets of merchandise. At the time, there was steady full time work. Raises were low.
