Work culture varies with Team
SDE-I (Former Employee) - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - January 4, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI worked here for around 11 months, my experience haven’t been so great here. SDE were being asked to clear a Software Proficiency Test ( while working in company, even after clearing interview). Most of the time involved debugging on assigned issues, or if fellow SDE wanted to developing features in Samsung phones, they had to first probably find an idea, that can be patented , and get it approved by concerned department.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
Had to complete 9 hours working quota of every day.

Great firm, not meant for everyone.
Software Development Engineer (Current Employee) - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - March 21, 2020
If you just need to lay back and accept a flexible 9-5 job? Samsung R&D Noida is the place for you. Amazing work-life balance with nominal tasks to be performed. Workplace and perks provided are pretty reasonable and kind of make your life really easy and systematic.
Although it might not be a piece of cake to blend in the crowd because of people being from nearby cities of UP itself, although this isn't one should be speculating about.
Pay is justifiable when you join the company but if you are looking forward to moving up the hierarchy, it's a lengthy process with the hikes being really low.
In the HR support, there isn't really one. You'd only have an interaction with the designated HR only twice, once during your interviews, and the other when you leave the firm.
In terms of job security, this is the place to be, you have great financial security if you're not too ambitious about money. The rating system is pretty fair but also dependent on your relationship with your manager of course.
Work distribution is a disaster though like everywhere else. Sometimes you'd just wonder what they hired you for? If you're looking for a proper software development experience, you're not gonna get that here.
This place is probably for you to chill once you've been through years of hard work and now you want to lay back and enjoy your life.

Work life manageable, fun but no self improvement
Software Engineer (Current Employee) - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - March 15, 2020
Relaxed environment, Flexible timings, travel and meals included, average management, fun culture and environment, not a place for further learning and improvement.

Okay Place to work
Software Engineer (Former Employee) - Delhi, Delhi - March 3, 2020
Various kinds of projects are available in the company and your experience depends on the project you have. You may get to learn a lot if you are working on a new project.

Good for settlement but not for fresher bachelors
Software Developer (Current Employee) - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - January 25, 2020
Company is good, we have lots of Business trips to Korea. Some team have development task but some dont. Some teams are working on new ideas. But, we have to do our task that is PLM (google about it).
Overall, I would say, fresher and fast pace learners, you can find better place. Perks are good, but they will place you in comfort zone. Hustle!

Productive workplace.
Software Developer (Java) (Former Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - January 14, 2020
It would be nice if they remove the work timings constraint. Apart from that everything was pretty good there. There's a lot to learn at this company. The company provides a lot of amenities too.

Fun Workplace
Software Engineer (Current Employee) - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - September 19, 2019
Since it is flexible in work timings and you have to leave laptop at office, a great work life balance is maintained. But then, work from home is not there

Productive and fun Workplace

Bunch of really skilful and fun guys. Constant appreciation for the hardworking people. And the emphasis on welcoming new ideas created a motivating environment.

Extremely unproductive
Software Engineer (Current Employee) - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - March 2, 2019
There is no work at all. People go to the office in the morning, play carrom or TT the whole day and come back. No work at all. You won't learn anything working at Samsung Research Institute, Noida. At the end of the month, their account gets credited and they are happy.
If you want to prepare for GRE or CAT and want to get money at the same time, this is the best place. You can read the whole day and you'll get the salary for that. Do not expect anything other than timely salary and good lunch from this organization.
Pros
Free lunch, 25% discount on Samsung products, a lot of free time
Cons
no learning at all, you cannot leave even if there is not pending work on your name, you will have to complete the inside hours, you might get bored if you do not read or play carrom or TT and a lot more.

No carrier growth
Manager Professional, Development Engineering (Current Employee) - Chennai - February 12, 2019
No carrier growth just running company business and doing process standardisation
Not having futuristic focus and vision to develop employees skills...

Too much bureaucracy
Software Engineer (Current Employee) - Bengaluru, Karnataka - October 30, 2018
Korean culture is prevalent a lot. Too much of bureaucracy everywhere. To apply for a simple thing, a plethora of approvals are needed. Nonsense 9 hrs rule.

Pros
Free Lunch, Free transport, international exposure, good pay, Ideation part of work, employee discount
Cons
Lack of development & research work
