I used to maintain track by fixing each joints, taking care of points, removing bushes inbetween track, taking care of culvert and bridges. Attending drelinment of train, checking gauge difference inbetween tracks.

comfortable and learning experience

The most enjoyable part of the job was that i could travel and visit different places. I learned how to manage labour and material during progress of work site. Lots of paper works like handling bills, work orders,etc. was also a good experience. Different types of estimation has given me confidence to face estimation of any type of work. 1. Supervise the maintenance of installations includes substation, switching station, auxiliary transformer station. 2. Maintain proper co-ordination with the Traction power controller (he maintains uninterrupted power supply to avoid train detention), Supply authorities (TNEB supplies 110KV supply to traction substation) and render assistance when required to ensure reliability of power supply. 3. Keep organisation in constant readiness to deal promptly with any breakdowns and failures of equipment. 4. Testing and maintenance of protective relays and other safety equipments including bonding and earthing are functioning effectively.
