Bad and sad place to work, terrible all around. They don't even let people unionize. And when we speak about it they try to send us to manager if we talk about it or anything related to it.

This a great company to build and establish your work experience with customer service, inventory management, cash handling, and beverage craftsmanshi
Barista (Former Employee) - Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala - January 7, 2020
Out of all the jobs I've had Starbucks was my favourite. Not only was it a healthy and supportive place to work, but it was comparative in a way that didn't make you feel inferior. The management in my district was intuitive to each store's needs, and an excellent representation of Starbucks's values. There is always something to do and it switched up every shift so you never got bored. I would not recommend this as a first job, though it is entry level, the fast paced environment is not for anxious or typically lazy people, or people with bad attitudes - and the connections you make with customers, especially regulars, will stay with you long after you move on or move up the chain.

Easy
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) - Fort - December 5, 2019
Easy, but don't expect your managers to stick up for you. Strict dress code rules, and no tolerance for tardiness, so make sure your on time. Lots of tasks, that will never all be good enough for the next rotation of staff, so do your best and don't stress.

Great job but bad management
BARISTA (Former Employee) - UTC Mall - September 21, 2019
When I was hired there I was hired as a Manager trainee due to the fact that particular store did not have a manager at the time. I was trained in how to make the coffees and heat up food, how to use their point of sale system, how to take orders via online, basic retail associate training. Then once I got the hang of it they started training me in Management. How to make schedules, how to work all the programs, how to run the store efficiently, how to order items for the store, and other such activities. It was defiantly a fast paced environment but I enjoyed the work. The hardest part of the job was dealing with upper managers. It seemed like they never communicated with each other which made my job ten times harder. I would get one way of training then the next day I would told I was wrong and told to do it another way. It was very frustrating and was a major part of what made me quit. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning how to make different types of coffee and getting to try them all. I am a huge coffee lover so this job was a dream come true up to that point.
Pros
free coffee, discounts in store, great hours, good pay
Cons
i have really nothing bad to say about the job but just that store at that time

Productive and fun workplace
Team member/cashier (Former Employee) - Ahmedabad, Gujarat - September 13, 2019
Productive and challenging workplace where employees learn how to juggle multiple tasks at once as well as how to serve customers better. The work can get very challenging because Starbucks always has a high customer turnover but it does teach a lot about time management and prioritization
