Ok for beginners
Surplus Agent (Current Employee) - Little rock - May 19, 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood place to get your foot in the door as a state employee. But hard to move around unless your trying to be an RN, Corrections worker, or a generic desk jocky. Boss is great but beware of the rest. Doing alot of work for the money.

Bad computer system with unclear direction
Eligibility Technician (Former Employee) - Paris, AR - November 20, 2023
I can see how Aries could be a great tool but too many bugs in it…. Should have been released slowly so issues could be addressed individually and corrected. Workers should have set caseloads!! Responsibility of processing applications they can then be assigned to a worker until case closes
Pros
Co workers understanding issues
Cons
Upper management unable/unwilling to correct

Good Benefits
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Hot Springs, AR - November 6, 2023
Lots of politics involved. Not what you know but who you know. Higher ups calling all the shots, but no real experience working in the clinic. Wasteful of resources

A little behind in technology
Program Eligibility Specialist (Former Employee) - Bentonville, AR - July 14, 2023
It’s an ok job. Not fulfilling. Management was egotistic without much to bank on. Clicky too. Not a friendly environment. People seemed beyond complacent.
Pros
Convenient
Cons
Pay

Great people, great management
Child Support Specialist (Current Employee) - Monticello, AR - May 17, 2023
This is my second position with the State of Arkansas and the office of child support enforcement by far has the best management, from local level all the way up to the top. Only con is limited opportunity for advancement and pay increase.

Poor training standards
Dispatcher (Former Employee) - Nlr, AR - April 16, 2023
Poor training program. Training officers not trained in customer service. Did not give any positive feedback, only criticism when you do something wrong. No consistency from one trainer to another.

Supervisors get skipped for pay raises
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Little Rock, AR - April 9, 2023
Workers and clerical got the latest salary increase making them making right at or even above their supervisor’s salary. No future increases for supervisors in the near future. The state hires people off the street making the same salary no matter experience or years with the company.

To much politics
Operator (Former Employee) - Berryville, AR - March 24, 2023
Good pay and benefits but at the end of the day its all politics and favorites. If you don't mind doing others jobs while they sit around and talk its a great place. Always expect to get thrown under the bus if someone above you gets in trouble.

Great Staffing
Floor Technician (Former Employee) - Dermott, AR - March 16, 2023
I like the fact that people are encouraging on how you feel, and think. I enjoyed working for this company. This was a city owned company that provides work in a small town. So everyone was family and friends.
Pros
Great staff
Cons
People would pass on in there age.

Demanding, rigorous work
Customer Support Representative (Former Employee) - Baxter County, AR - March 2, 2023
Lots of policies and regulations to learn which change frequently, so always learning. Not a dull job. Dealing directly with public has good and bad elements.
Pros
Opportunities for growth, development, and transfer
Cons
No guarantee you'll get off on schedule

Not bad, not great
Service Representative (Former Employee) - Northwest Arkansas - January 19, 2023
Goes great when you have a full staff and leadership that knows what they're doing. Difficult to explain nonsensical policies to irate customers. Wish more customers understood the time and difficulty it takes to do our jobs.

Typical government job
Inventory Clerk (Former Employee) - Wrightsville, AR - January 8, 2023
Not stimulating same thing over and over every day. You have to work overtime wether you want to or not. You get called at all hours to come in and hardly ever get to clock out on time

Stressful Work
Budget Analyst (Current Employee) - Little Rock, AR - January 6, 2023
The work I do at DFA is extremely stressful there are deadlines every week for something. The managers have no people skills and treat employees any type of way. Hard work goes un noticed if your not liked by them

Good benefits, Good pay, Large caseloads
DOC Advisor (Current Employee) - Texarkana, AR - December 27, 2022
This is a good job if you enjoy teaching and helping people. This job can however be very stressful due to large caseloads. The benefits and pay are not terrible for the area. With a good work ethic and time management skills you can do well in this position.
Pros
Decent pay, Good benefits, and day schedule
Cons
Heavy workload, Management, Teaching

3 stars
Program Assistant (Former Employee) - Bentonville, AR - November 22, 2022
What is the best part of working at the company? Helping the families was the best, those that wanted help. You work at your own pace and set your schedule for the day which was nice What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of leadership and training. In the beginning I struggled with the software and everyone was too busy to help. Management was focused on numbers rather than the people and shuffling offices every other month. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? You’re on your own. You have to be a quick learner. What is a typical day like for you at the company? It could change at any moment. I could have my day set and by 9 be told I was going to south of the state to pick up or drop off kids. Sometimes working a full 22-24 hour day

Great servicing the State of Arkansas although the pay could be better.
Surplus Property Specialist (Current Employee) - North Little Rock, AR - October 27, 2022
Great work environment, small staff but no room for advancement or pay increase...Not often and whenever you do it's only 2% and or based 9n annual evaluations. Noone ever gets overexceeding so it's rare that they maximize your opportunity for full pay increase. Definitely not good for moral! Loving what I do keeps motivated, not the pay!
Pros
Paid holidays and inclement weather days, no weekend work and good retirement plan!
Cons
No room for advancement or annual pay increase
