slow career progression as it is a horizontal organisation
I worked in small private company to very large conglomerates to semi government to pure government sectors. Through our my 23 years of journey, I worked from construction industry to consultancy to engineering to manufacturing domain. I worked within India and abroad as well. In this long journey, honestly speaking, I have not found one single company where I found company like Tata Steel where most of the decisions are well crafted policy driven under very humanitarian top management.
Wrok-Life balance, Security, Generous Management
Nothing as such
A good place to start a career but not recommended for constant self-development. The size of the organization gives the liberty to learn from cross-functional teams. Yet the differences in the level of management and the lower levels of operation makes it a difficult choice for career progression. The work-life balance is really good and teamwork has a huge impact on success. Overall it is a good place to work or start as a fresher but may not be a great career choice.
Most of the team is supportive and young
Too much gap between the senior management and the lower teams
Very good work environment and interested personal relationship. This helped to enhance productivity.
The Tata Steel Ltd has great ethical value, work culture is very good, empower employees to implement innovative ideas and work for development of society.
Great place to work, nice people, ethical, takes care of employees, you might not get a lot of salary in hand but a lot of other perks are provided. Promotions are slow though. It's a huge company so culture varies from department to department but is generally hierarchial.
Tata Steel is a very large global enterprise. I like the way the company puts its emphasis on new initiatives in cost control, operational efficiency and customer relationships. Also, I appreciate the ethics and values system that is followed in the entire company at all locations.
