They don’t care about drivers
Rideshare Driver (Current Employee) - Tampa, FL - June 22, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThey put the liar customers before you. Not the best pay for this job. They changed the payment structure and now nothing make sense on the pay. Very unfair most of the time. Get ready to get your acceptance rate low if you respect yourself and cancel nonsense trips.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Bad pay for long ride and sometimes short as well

Work hard with very little pay
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - June 21, 2022
Hard company to work for because with working, there is a lot to deal with. Very little compensation with most days, hol9days, weekends, and nights needed

Uber helps people survive
Driver Partner (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - June 20, 2022
Yes, Uber has helped alot of people say goodbye to bosses. Most times the mileage driven don't match the rate for trips. The way cancellation and acceptance rates are calculated is unfair. With the gas so high now, compensation is lower then it was and makes it hard to survive.

Great side money
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - June 20, 2022
I think this platform is better than any of the other delivery sites besides the fact that over the years the base pay has went lower and lower. Currently at $1.90. Gas prices are too high and the wear and tare on your car isn't worth it. So I only do bonus based deliveries now. The drives are ok too but also have a low base pay to drivers. The 49¢ gas surge should be per mile not just a one time pay per delivery.
Pros
Extra money as needed
Cons
Can take you hours away from home

Each driver is an independent contractor
Uber Driver Partner (Current Employee) - Winston Salem, NC - June 12, 2022
As an independent contractor you make your own hours to work. Uber will send trip opportunities for you to accept or decline. Your income is based on the number of completed trips, and is paid weekly ( the following week) Uber offers safety advice and driving tips, as well as accident insurance. They offer assistance with buying vehicles for the job.

Flexible schedule but horrible pay
Rideshare Driver (Current Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - June 11, 2022
With gas prices rising, it's not worth driving. Pay is not enough to cover expenses for your vehicle, insurance, etc. They offer bonuses to work the weekends but you have to run hard to reach the bonus
Pros
Flexible scheduling
Cons
Market is saturated with too many drivers

Great opportunity for an entrepreneur between projects
Rideshare Driver (Former Employee) - Baltimore, MD - June 10, 2022
Working as an LYFT driver was energizing and rewarding, I met a lot of nice people with good conversation. This job provided an excellent networking opportunity. Management was very supportive and very fair in how they handled personnel issues. The hardest part of the job was dealing with occasional disrespectful customers. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to make your schedule.
Pros
Ability to work when you want to, daily payout.
Cons
Compensation not keeping pace with rising gas prices.

Terrible
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Ottawa, ON - June 8, 2022
Every few month Uber increases their cut. They lie about how much the customer pays for rides versus how much the driver makes and pockets the extra money probably in an offshore bank account and laundered. As cost of living increases Uber decreases their fares like they're a charity

Independent
Independent Contractor / Driver (Former Employee) - Columbus, OH - June 8, 2022
This is for short term only part time and short term driving gig. Wear tear on your vehicle decreases value very quickly and put a lot miles on your persinal vehicle. You will buying new vehicle every two years. Not sustainable for full-time and long term. Just find a different hustle. Working in the office is different from being independent contractor.
Pros
Independent
Cons
Long hours to make money

Set your own hours
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - June 6, 2022
I've worked here 5 years. It is a good job for someone that has their own car & independent. You have to be a go getter as you're basically running your own business. Its up to you to budget for gas & set your own hours to work. I met a lot of cool people & was able to provide for my family.
Pros
Freedom, convenience
Cons
customer service needs more support

uber driver
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Rochester, NY - June 1, 2022
when i started driving for uber things where great lower gas prices and inflation costs kept costs of driving low. higher gas prices and other cost have made it difficult to keep driving. the ability to set your own schedule is the biggest benefit, no need to request time off or worry about appointment conflicts with working.
Pros
set your own schedule, choose your work area
Cons
vehicle expences

Uber is a good company to work for with a lot of independent choices you get to make each day. Support is there if you need it and there is very good training.
Pros

Freedom to be in charge of your schedule but have to work too many hours to pay the bills. Not paid enough.
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - Atlanta, GA - May 23, 2022
Uber is great because you are in charge of your day every day. And because you can work as much as needed to make the money you need. However, because you have to figure in gas and the pay isn’t as good as it should be, you have to work a lot of hours to pay the bills.

Its a fun Job
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - May 21, 2022
Its Fun Job for extra money. I wouldnt raise a family with it or anything like that. Lately the gas prices are eating profits. You meet lots of cool people, but you must deal with the rude ones also.

Not fun rude customer
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - Miami, FL - May 14, 2022
Low base pay and long hour shift if you trying to make money best time to make money is at night but get ready for all the drunks the cleaning fee is up to 500$ but will not help in a serious mess

Not great
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - Reno, NV - May 10, 2022
Low pay, most of earnings comes from tips. Uber has skimmed wages before. Support from another country. Incentives are terrible. Don't work for uber..

Get to be your own boss
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Seminole, FL - May 6, 2022
You do not answer to anyone but the customer and work your own schedule. The pay is not the greatest but the tips usually make up for it. If you like people it's for you.
