Progressive work place with optimum work life balance

2 years of tenure have seen me through a number of life changes and UNISYS has been very accomodating. There is an optimum chance for work-life balance and progressing in one's career provided on puts in the required effort which gets noticed and rewarded.

No work life balance

With 10 hrs a day job, there is no work life balance at Unisys, considering 45 mins to 1 hr of commute one way, 12 hrs a day becomes very hectic. They do have a option to work from office 3 days a week but that's only for some specific teams. Increment is like any big organization 4-8%, and to much management for a simple job, but management is good overall.

Fast paced Work environment

A typical day would be very busy at Unisys. The work is fast-paced and an employee is provided with a number of challenges to prove himself/herself as a better candidate from time to time. Proper recognition and awards are given from time to time to keep employees motivated. Learned a lot.

Overall colleagues were supportive. Management was good too.

I did not like to work in 24x7 environment. However, colleagues were friendly and supportive. Workplace culture is relaxed. There were lots of learning opportunities as I had to interact with different teams and learn about the technology they work on.

Lot has to change to adapt to latest technologies

Good place to work, I see there is a traction in adapting to latest technologies but lot of yet to be changed. I see it will be in good position in next couple of years as new middle management is planning and implementing good ideas/technologies.
