very isolated when working remotely
Charity Fundraiser (Former Employee) - Remote - July 5, 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorked from home. For the most part it was ok, it's not a bad place to work. The difficult part was trying to get support during calls, and feeling isolated not working in a call centre surrounded by your team.
Pros
Easy hiring process. Positive team. Flexible work hours.
Cons
Two days training. Callers need more support during shifts.

Terrible company to work for
Telecommunications Technician (Former Employee) - Geelong VIC - February 1, 2023
Worked here for 5 months due to a bad knee injury. A lot of broken promises. You get abused daily on the phones and have to make the top 3 sales for the day EVERYDAY. They never have work available either. I would be on for 2 weeks and then they wouldn’t have anyone for us to call anymore so no work for 6 weeks I had. Went back for one week and decided it wasn’t worth it and left.
Pros
Literally nothing not one thing
Cons
Everything don’t do it!!!!

Workflexability great morals not so much
Outbound Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Remote - January 22, 2023
The clocking system is incredibly flawed the software doesn’t run well and has issues most days resulting more often than not that you are working hours but not getting paid for all of them, it can be quite isolating as there arnt weekly staff zoom meetings or anything, this also isn’t the job for someone who is empathetic as they do not care much about empathy you are expected to leave your ethics and morales at the door and push elderly for their life savings and make people in less fortunate financial situations feel as though they are lying
Pros
Work flexibility
Cons
Non-empathetic, poor software, isolated

Flexible, friendly home working environment
Telephone Advisor (Current Employee) - Work from home - January 7, 2023
The company run multiple campaigns at any given time. The majority of them are working for well known and established charities (such as Air Ambulance, Asthma UK). It is outbound calls only, but the data comes from people who have expressed an interest in the charity Main task is to get people to sign up to a £1 a week lottery for the charity. There are also upgrade campaigns, where you ring existing supporters and ask if they would like to increase support, as well as campaigns where you ring previous supporters and see if they would like to restart. There is a mimimum requirement of 10 hours a week, but you get to pick your own hours - as many or as little as you want. Support from head office (team leaders and HR) is excellent.
Pros
Pick your own hours. No weekends
Cons
Occassional lack of hours if short of campaigns but this doesn't last very long

Flexible and work from home
Telegone (Current Employee) - Home - July 28, 2022
I have worked for Unity4 since Feb 2022 I can honestly it’s the best job I’ve ever had, the flexibility of the job is incredible and you work from the comfort of your own home. The managers are lovely and understanding and are always on hand to chat to you if you need help. I have 3 children and this jobs works around them. You are also helping different charity’s raise great needed funds.

Listen
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - London, ON - May 13, 2022
Do you want to go places in life? Don't go here. You will be repeating a script over and over. Aim higher man. The software is designed to not pay minutes you are not being paid for that. There are no paid breaks. It seems the timer is sped up to count when you aren't working!!yikes meaning they are really not paying
Pros
Online
Cons
Reading script over and over

Pretty good to work for, they respect a persons individual needs, generally positive if trying to help. The job can be hard and monotonous.
CONTACT CENTRE AGENT, SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE (Former Employee) - Remote - April 29, 2022
Unity 4 is pretty good to work for, they respect a persons individual needs and generally try to help. When times are tough at work, senior staff try to assist with training and have generally positive attitudes - thumbs up. But this job is tough in many ways, your team is virtual with a chat room and balancing chat and calls can be stressful. And If you don’t like pushing for a sale (conversationally) then it’s not for you. Following the script with your own flare and being comfortable objection handling, you will be successful. Also you may work on your own all day every day and no one to even say a genuine good morning!!!

Pros
Working from home, flexi hours and earn commission on top of pay.
Cons
None

Stressful
TELEFUNDRAISER PHONE AGENT (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - November 29, 2021
You don’t get acknowledged for all the good you do with sales ect but the minute your sales start to drop the team leaders are breathing down your neck. No understanding whatsoever. It’s mentally stressful once it gets tough. Hours are cut sometimes without notice if your not hitting target but after busting 40 plus hours months before everything went down hill that was all good. They chew you up and spit you out. The only good thing there is the people you meet it gets you through the day.
Pros
work life balance
Cons
Treated poorly.

Fun workplace
Customer Service Representative - Outbound (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - October 7, 2021
I left the job however it seemed as if it was a fun place for work. The manager was demanding to meet a certain quota which was stressful. Constant work was the issue for me.

Average Home working role
Telephone Operator (Former Employee) - Home Based - June 26, 2021
Personal circumstances meant couldn't do hours in an office so this fitted in with parenting. No chance of advancement or job security. Just over minimum wage. Constant scrutiny in the name of quality grinds you down.
Pros
Work from home, training comprehensive
Cons
Constant scrutiny, listening in, low pay, no job security

Fun workplace!
Homebased phone operator calling customers who have previously donated (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - May 30, 2021
Work place has been awesome. Lots happening between staff and yourself and your able to communicate whilst working from home with your team. Career progression is also possible. . Some people use to tell me when you have the right job your work colleagues tend to become your new family, they definitely aren't wrong there. For myself I have been in a predicament at times and unity4 have been nothing but supportive through it all.
Pros
Working from home & available to chat with your teams through online chat

Misleading and not secure employment
Call Centre Representative (Current Employee) - Australia - February 25, 2021
May have an attractive salary rate and may have ability to work your own hours, however they can change your hours at any time they want. You can work one day, then the next day they haven't rostered you on again. They churn people in and out, as they need/want them. No job security at all.
Pros
Remote work
Cons
Reduce your working days without any notice, . Dont know your roster for the next week until friday night

Only do it if your stuck for a job
Tele-sale Agent (Former Employee) - Auckland City, Auckland - October 3, 2020
They cut your hours if you don't make sales. However when I said it to them during the training they said not to worry about it. And then they tell you to be sales like and pushy but not to be sales like and pushy. Also on my first sales feedback I was spoken to really rudely by my team leader

Dont waste your time
Remote Agent (Former Employee) - Canada - July 23, 2020
Really, dont waste your time. You will get zero support form management and HR. If you are having issues with your software its automatically your fault. They will tell you to reboot. The amount of times you reboot you will not be paid. The software sucks. its always YOUR fault not theirs! remember this! You will get no notice when they no longer need you.
Pros
No fees
Cons
Everything

Enjoyable and flexible.
Telefundraiser (Current Employee) - Home Based - May 27, 2020
I really enjoy working for Unity 4. It’s a very supportive and friendly culture and the work hours are flexible so you can fit it in around your ‘other life’
Pay rates are fair. If you are able to self motivate to work from home, this is a great job.

Misleading
Lead Generator (Former Employee) - Australia - March 18, 2020
They distract you with the hourly wage they offer. When, after jumping through all the hoops just to get hired, only then do you realize that even that wage is too low for what they expect from you. They are a day ahead of us in Canada so the shifts you thought you could have, are not at all possible unless you want to work until midnight all by yourself. Of course, you are not made aware of this until you are hired and the trainer tells you so. What a waste of time my time!
