Insights into Virtusa
What people like
- Supportive environment
- Ability to meet personal goals
- Clear sense of purpose
Areas for improvement
- Fair pay for job
- Support from manager
- Sense of belonging
Bad management
Senior Consultant (Former Employee) - Bengaluru - June 30, 2023
If you want to work on good projects, then Virtusa definitely provides it where you get good learning opportunity. But if it comes to your performance then it is not going to be evaluated correctly based on your merits. Manager keeps changing every 2-3 months, so not sure how they are gonna track the performance. Also they just follow what client says. They are not bothered about what an employee is facing. and don't expect a good hike during the appraisal.

Simy time passed by recruiting employees. Not worth working ,not allocating any projects to employees.Simply time pass for months by putting meetings to bench people.

Zero Growth, but good WLB.
Senior Consultant (Current Employee) - Hyderabad, Telangana - September 13, 2022
This company is good if you want stability and have a family to take care of. They are flexible with work from home (depends on project). Moderate pressure of work. But if you are career oriented and want learning this is not the place for you.
Pros
Interview Allowance, work from home, work life balance
Cons
No Growth. Poor management, Really bad HRs

Not so great and typical MNC culture. Learning depends on you and and your project.
Senior Consultant (Former Employee) - Hyderabad, Telangana - September 5, 2022
Pros: Because of project and onsite client team I learned a lot and always in the middle of the latest technologies. Cons: Most of the daily time will go to support work and learning completely depends on the employee. most of the projects are in support only. Summary: Typical MNC where you don't see the hike every year because of their performance cycles which i didn't understand. Variable pay is a trap as always which comes to 75% max. There is no work-life balance in my project and the same for everyone. Management doesn't have much technical idea about our work and we mostly engages with clients and they will use for all the dirty work which they don't prefer to do over their weekends. Lastly 3 months Notice period and you cannot apply for leaves during this period which doesn't make any sense(at least 1 or 2 should be allowed per month). No Healthy atmosphere and culture from management.

Very good and competitive place to work at. Leadership would be willing to listen to your concerns and address them in a best possible way. Sometimes work is stressful with tight deadlines.

Pathetic
Senior Consultant (Former Employee) - Chennai, Tamil Nadu - July 18, 2020
If you are fedup with your own life, then only join Virtusa.
People have no sense of professionalism and knows how to talk with peers
If someone using abusive language then it's managers responsibility to stop that guy, but here manager do not bothers.
There is huge lobbying or so called gang/group culture.
