Diverse and Competitive
Student (Current Employee) - Vellore, Tamil Nadu - May 17, 2023
I found VIT to be a freat school for undergrad as it offered lots of opportunities whether it be for personal or professional growth. Pros You'll get to meet a lot of diverse people which you won't get in a lot of local universities Cons You'll find yourself annoyed with the management decisions a lot of the time

Btech Student
Student (Former Employee) - Chennai, Tamil Nadu - May 15, 2023
VIT is a very good college for those who couldn't do enough in JEE and are willing to make the amendments now. You can do projects, research works, get publications etc. You'll always be encouraged. VIT is a very good college for those who want to enjoy their college life to the fullest. You'll get a great bunch of people from different cultures to hang around with. VIT is a very good college for those who aren't 'much' interested in studies and consider their options elsewhere like Music,Dramatics,Movie Making,Choreography,Sports,Debates & Speeches,Automobiles etc. You'll get a plenty of opportunities which I'm not sure other colleges encourage the way VIT does!

Work culture is good. You can maintain work and personal life balance
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (Former Employee) - Vellore, Tamil Nadu - February 19, 2023
However the work culture is good but the any procedure related to admin is mind boggling They don't have any transparency. The project assistants and phd students are mostly ignored.
Pros
5 days a week
Cons
Restricted rules on working in labs during weekends, very laborous and time taking process of ordering chemical reagents, admin system is not transparent

Should be slave at VIT University if you go for low level position. Ladies administration. Ruling party are ladies. Should do A to Z work.
Data Entry Operator ( Secretarial Work ) (Former Employee) - Chennai, Tamil Nadu - October 29, 2019
In VIT should work 365 days in library and full time 10 to 14 hours in a day. Benefits is there but we cant use that and they will put you to any department and any section to do work.Work should be done within a day. To be a slave person until they tell us to move. HR and Section supervisor, Secretary ladies are very Ego persons and make politics everyday. They will be watching all the activities of new joiner and check others bag and do all small boys activities. They wont behave like a maturity people. Full of Ego and prestigious people in VIT. Many guys resigned from the VIT due to work tension and pressure of holding long time work.

Just OK working.
Senior Manager (Former Employee) - Vellore, Tamil Nadu - August 1, 2019
An average working privately held university with huge campus. Focus is on maximising profits. More students than actual capacity. Students are loaded in hostels and classrooms.
Pros
Subsidised meals 12 hrs x 6 days fro employees, medical facilities cashless, excellent maintained campus and surroundings.
Cons
Highly cetralised decision making, poor growth, salaries and designations on case to case basis, no defined organisation structure, no employee ever trusted, opinions and decisions made on grapevine, no job security.
