Work wise not very advance tech but FPGA market share makes a profit making business. Overall xilinx is good place for kind of about to retire people. If you are energetic and ready to put effort to learn new things, this is not the best place.

Productive and fun filled work place

A typical day at work would be brainstorming on a new automation methodology or an automation request from designing team or debugging a design issue or deep delved implementation of any of the above and almost every day at work is challenging and gives a sense of satisfaction as you create some frameworks which the whole of company uses I've learned a lot technically practical aspects of a design( how things affect at a sub-micrometer scale). Apart from technical learnings, I've learned to take up responsibility, be accountable for the work taken up and most important of all 'Get the work done' attitude Management & Co-workers were really knowledgeable, helpful and I've learned a lot both technically and personally from them Coming up with a feasible solution at times when the requirement is abstract, you've to be creative to come up with solutions and the implementation should also be robust as we handle huge designs(order of 2 billion transistors) any issue with latency or memory usage costs a lot when used at a full chip level For the same reasons mentioned above the code we write or frameworks we develop are regarded with great respect by the whole company and that feels awesome
