Changing the way the world hires, for good.
Indeed’s mission is to help all people get jobs. Every day we connect millions of people to new opportunities, but we know that while talent is universal, opportunity is not.
We all have a role to play in making the world — and the world of work — a better place. We support our people, our communities and our environment, creating opportunities for current and future generations to thrive.

Goals & Commitments
We believe that our commitment to Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) is directly tied to our mission’s success, and that we have the ability and responsibility to drive positive, transformative change. Consistent with this expectation, we strive to provide market-leading transparency and accountability for how we incorporate ESG throughout our operations.

We are committed to reducing our impact on the planet by achieving carbon neutrality annually and net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030. We’re pleased to report that our efforts are paying off.
- The environmental milestone of CarbonNeutral® company certification, in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol, was achieved in collaboration with Natural Capital Partners, the leading experts on carbon neutrality and climate finance. We are committed to achieving this milestone annually.
- Indeed’s 2020 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were also significantly lower than prior years due to COVID-19 travel restrictions and office closures. Indeed went above and beyond certification requirements and based the certification on 2019 emissions data.

Our journey so far
In 2021, we conducted a global labor force survey to better understand the difficulties job seekers face and identify those who need the most support. We learned that job search duration is approximately 15 weeks for most job seekers, and we set a goal to reduce that time by 50%.
As we enter the second year of our journey, we will continue gathering more data to increase the accuracy of our measurement, and conduct deeper research and analysis of user data. We will use what we learn to improve the job search and hiring experience across our platforms.
We know that job seekers face a myriad of barriers unrelated to a candidate’s skills or ability to do the work. Hiring decisions are often based on proxies – such as education levels, years of experience, or criminal record – that can prevent people from getting a job. These are poor indicators of on-the-job success.
By increasing access to quality opportunities – we strive to make a positive impact on society by connecting people to better work to create better lives.
In February 2022, along with partners such as the Texas Fair Defense Project and Checkr, Indeed launched Essentials to Work – a $10 million multi-prong investment to help struggling job seekers in the U.S. get access to technology, transportation, and criminal record-clearing services.

Work is underway to achieve multiple goals under our Social pillar:
Governance
Governance
Indeed is proud to have an official Supplier Diversity program.
This achievement marks an important first step to promoting an inclusive approach to procurement. A diverse supplier is a business that is at least 51% owned and operated by an individual or group that is part of a traditionally underrepresented or underserved group such as ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, veterans and people with disabilities. Supplier diversity programs ensure corporations work collaboratively with businesses that empower all communities. These relationships are symbiotic because both the suppliers and corporations reap the benefits of diversity.
Supplier diversity allows Indeed to further live our mission to help all people get jobs, champion our values, and use our buying power to meaningfully contribute to the communities in which we operate.
We continue to grow in this area as well as make progress on our goals focused on building sustainable equity for our people and policies. These include:
- Increasing Indeed’s workforce representation of women globally to 50%
- Increasing underrepresented ethnic minorities in the United States to 30% by 2030
- Collaborating closely with Recruit Holdings to promote and accelerate sustainability transformation in-line with the group-wide ESG commitment.
