Position: Head Furniture Designer
Location: Lonavala, Maharashtra
Department: Design & Projects

Role Overview
Della Group is seeking an experienced and visionary Head – Furniture Designer to lead the conceptualization, design, development, and execution of bespoke furniture collections across our hospitality, residential, commercial, and luxury lifestyle projects. This role will be responsible for creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically distinctive furniture that reflects the Della brand while ensuring manufacturability, quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
The ideal candidate will combine creative excellence with strong technical expertise and leadership skills, working closely with architects, interior designers, production teams, procurement, and project management to deliver world-class furniture solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership
  • Lead the furniture design department and establish the overall design vision for Della Group projects.
  • Develop original furniture concepts for hotels, villas, restaurants, offices, event spaces, retail, and bespoke client projects.
  • Create collections that align with Della's luxury brand identity while meeting functionality and commercial objectives.
  • Drive innovation by researching emerging materials, technologies, global design trends, and sustainable practices.
Product Development
  • Oversee the complete furniture development lifecycle from concept through production.
  • Prepare concept sketches, detailed drawings, technical specifications, and production documentation.
  • Review prototypes and recommend design refinements.

Job Expectations:

  • Ensure products meet durability, ergonomics, safety, and quality standards.
Manufacturing & Production
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless execution of designs.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability without compromising aesthetics.
  • Resolve production challenges through engineering and design modifications.
  • Establish quality benchmarks for finished products.
Project Coordination
  • Work alongside architects, interior designers, project managers, and consultants throughout project execution.
  • Ensure timely delivery of furniture packages for hospitality and residential projects.
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
Vendor & Material Development
  • Develop relationships with material suppliers, artisans, fabricators, and manufacturing partners.
  • Source premium materials including wood, metal, stone, upholstery, leather, glass, and specialty finishes.
  • Evaluate new materials and sustainable alternatives.
Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary furniture design team.
  • Allocate resources and monitor project progress.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovation-driven design culture.
Budget & Cost Management
  • Prepare cost estimates during product development.
  • Balance luxury aesthetics with commercial viability.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering while maintaining quality.
Quality Assurance
  • Conduct design reviews and prototype evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
  • Monitor installation quality and provide site support when required.
