Full job description
We are seeking a highly experienced Linux Administrator to lead and oversee enterprise IT infrastructure and operations. The role involves managing Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring system stability and security, guiding issue resolution, supporting end users through the IT team, and ensuring timely closure of IT service requests in line with defined SLAs. The position also includes responsibility for IT asset planning, procurement, vendor management, and lifecycle management to ensure infrastructure availability and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Guide and supervise the IT team in troubleshooting complex system and server issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
- Oversee CI/CD enablement through Jenkins, ensure continuous availability of EDA tools, and manage regular patching, updates, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Establish and maintain systems for continuous monitoring of server and network performance, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions to enforce security policies and compliance standards.
- Ensure timely and effective end-user support and drive the resolution of internal IT service tickets within defined SLAs.
- Plan, procure, and manage IT assets across their lifecycle, and negotiate with IT suppliers and vendors to achieve optimal commercial and service outcomes.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Linux and Windows server administration, with deep expertise in enterprise IT operations.
- Solid knowledge of LDAP, SAMBA, Linux scripting, and automation, with the ability to guide implementation and best practices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver scalable, long-term solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to IT policies, procedures, and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
