Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Fusion Technology

Overview

Pranos Fusion Pvt Ltd is seeking a proficient Electrical Engineer to join our innovative team dedicated to advancing magnetic confinement fusion technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electromagnetism, with specific experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of magnetic coil systems integral to tokamak operations. Additionally, expertise in instrumentation and control systems is highly desirable. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge fusion energy research and development.

Responsibilities

50% Electromagnetic System Design & Analysis

  • Design and optimize magnetic coil systems for tokamak applications, ensuring efficient plasma confinement and stability.
  • Conduct electromagnetic simulations to assess and enhance coil performance.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate coil designs seamlessly into the overall reactor architecture.

30% Instrumentation & Control Systems

  • Develop and implement instrumentation systems for monitoring and controlling tokamak operations.
  • Design and maintain control systems to ensure precise operation of electromagnetic components.
  • Integrate sensors and diagnostic tools to monitor system performance and ensure safety protocols.

15% Research & Development

  • Stay abreast of advancements in fusion technology and electromagnetic system design.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to enhance tokamak performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive research initiatives and project development.

5% Documentation & Communication

  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and analysis reports.
  • Present findings and project updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, followed by a Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Electromagnetic Engineering, Control Systems) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in the design and analysis of magnetic coil systems for tokamak or similar applications.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetism principles and their practical applications in fusion technology.
  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems, including sensor integration and data acquisition.
  • Proficiency in simulation and modeling software relevant to electromagnetic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Bangalore.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology.
  • Familiarity with plasma diagnostics and related instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory standards pertinent to fusion reactor operations.
