Magento Developer

Position Overview

Kinetic Potential (KP) is a mission-driven talent management organization based in the Washington, DC area. KP supports innovative workforce solutions and digital initiatives that drive business growth and social impact.

We are seeking an experienced Magento Developer to lead the development of a custom product customization plugin that allows customers to design and order custom suits, activewear, and casual wear.

This role is ideal for a hands-on developer with strong front-end and back-end Magento 2 experience, a passion for clean UI/UX, and scalable architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

Magento Plugin Development:

• Gather detailed requirements and translate them into a scalable data model for fabrics, style attributes, and measurement profiles.
• Design an intuitive, mobile-ready customization flow with real-time previews and step-by-step guidance.
• Build a Magento 2 module including:
• Front-end product configurator
• Admin panel for managing options and pricing
• Back-end logic for real-time price calculations
• Implement separate configuration sets for suits, activewear, and casual wear while maintaining shared global elements (measurements, customer dashboards).
• Provide automated tests, cross-browser QA, and installation documentation.
• Deliver clear technical documentation and conduct a short handover/training session for internal teams.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Extension installs via Composer with no core overrides.
• Customers can complete a custom order from selection to checkout on desktop and mobile.
• Admin users can manage option trees and pricing tiers in the Magento back office.
• Real-time pricing calculations persist through checkout and order records.
• Code passes unit tests and full regression testing.

Deliverables:

• Fully functional Magento customization plugin with full source code access.
• Technical documentation and training materials.
• Support for deployment and production integration.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of experience with Magento 2 development (plugin/module creation).
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
• Experience following Magento 2 plugin (And latest) development standards.
• Experience implementing UI/UX designs and performing cross-browser testing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with e-commerce customization tools.
• Knowledge of MySQL and CMS architecture.
• Experience writing clean, well-documented, scalable code.

Schedule & Work Expectations:

• Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible).
• Weekly check-ins with the project manager.
• Ability to meet project milestones and deadlines.

Pay: ₹1,400.00 - ₹1,500.00 per hour
