Full job description

We are seeking a highly experienced, dynamic, and results-oriented Sales Head to lead, build, and scale investment and insurance sales function. The role involves driving strategic business growth, acquiring large corporate clients, building and managing high-performing sales teams, and owning revenue and profitability targets for the assigned region.

The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise in corporate insurance solutions, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of building teams and delivering sustained revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Drive acquisition of new clients across health, life, and general insurance products
  • Develop and execute region-specific sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Identify new markets, channels, and business opportunities
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of high-value corporate accounts
  • Develop and drive profitable business growth for the assigned region/location

Leadership, Team Building & Recruitment

  • Recruit, hire, and build a high-performing corporate sales team from the ground up
  • Define organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities for the sales function
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to achieve targets
  • Foster a performance-driven and customer-centric sales culture
  • Set individual and team targets, monitor performance, and drive accountability
  • Provide coaching, training, and continuous development to team members
  • Manage attrition, succession planning, and team expansion as business grows

Client & Account Management

  • Develop and manage relationships with large corporate clients and key decision-makers
  • Conduct regular client interactions to understand needs and challenges
  • Deliver customized insurance solutions and advisory support
  • Review client portfolios to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention

Strategy & Planning

  • Align sales objectives with the organization’s overall business strategy
  • Participate in corporate strategic planning and business development initiatives
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and action plans
  • Monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities
  • Research and develop new sales opportunities or untapped markets

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance companies and partners
  • Liaise with clients regularly to understand issues and provide value-added solutions
  • Resolve complex insurance and servicing issues
  • Coordinate with underwriting, operations, and claims teams

Financial & Operational Responsibility

  • Own the P&L for the assigned region/location
  • Ensure profitability, cost control, and revenue growth
  • Track performance metrics and ensure financial targets are achieved
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in corporate sales within insurance or financial services
  • Proven experience in building and leading large sales teams
  • Strong understanding of corporate insurance products and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive revenue targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and leadership capabilities
  • Highly motivated with strong client-focused approach

Preferred Qualification

  • Broking License Certificate issued by the National Insurance Academy (NIA)
  • Experience handling large corporate accounts and enterprise clients
  • Strong industry network and relationships with insurers
