Role Overview

A podcast booker is responsible for finding, pitching, and securing guests for podcast episodes. They help shape the content by ensuring interesting, relevant, and diverse voices appear on the show.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Research & Outreach
• Identify potential guests (experts, authors, celebrities, founders, etc.)
• Reach out via email, social media, or PR contacts
• Booking & Scheduling
• Coordinate availability between host and guest
• Manage calendars and recording timelines
• Pitch Evaluation
• Review inbound guest pitches and decide fit for the show
• Pre-Interview Prep
• Brief guests on topics, format, and expectations
• Share research notes with the host
• Relationship Management
• Maintain connections with PR agencies, publicists, and past guests
• Content Alignment
• Ensure guests match the podcast’s theme, audience, and goals

Skills Required

• Strong communication and networking skills
• Research ability and curiosity
• Organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with podcasting platforms and trends
• Negotiation and persuasion skills
• Basic understanding of media/PR workflows

Preferred Background

• Experience in media, journalism, PR, or content production
• Prior work with podcasts, radio, or digital media
• Existing network of industry contacts (a big plus)
