TECHNO SALES MANAGER – INKS

Domestic Market

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Techno Sales Manager to manage and grow domestic sales of our ink product portfolio. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in inks and strong in-market sales skills to serve customers across printing, packaging, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement domestic sales plans to drive revenue growth for the ink product range.
  • Build, manage, and expand a strong customer base across printers, converters, packaging companies, and OEMs.
  • Provide technical support and consultative selling to customers – from product trials to final adoption.
  • Manage existing key accounts while actively prospecting and acquiring new business.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, mill trials, and application testing at customer sites.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets for volume, revenue, and collection within the domestic territory.
  • Work closely with the production and R&D teams to address customer technical requirements and customisation needs.
  • Monitor domestic market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and new product launches.
  • Manage the order-to-delivery process in coordination with supply chain and logistics teams.
  • Resolve technical complaints and quality issues promptly in coordination with internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales pipelines, and market intelligence in CRM.
  • Participate in domestic trade shows, industry associations, and printing/packaging exhibitions.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of ink types – offset, flexo, gravure, UV, water-based, solvent-based, or specialty inks.
  • Hands-on understanding of printing and packaging processes, press operations, and substrate compatibility.
  • Ability to diagnose print defects, recommend corrective solutions, and conduct product trials independently.
  • Familiarity with Indian BIS standards, food packaging regulations, and industry compliance norms for inks.
  • Understanding of ink physical properties – viscosity, tack, gloss, rub resistance, and adhesion.

Sales & Commercial Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customers and channel partners in the domestic market.
  • Skilled in negotiations, credit management, and handling price-sensitive domestic customers.
  • Experience in managing dealer/distributor networks across multiple states or regions.
  • Ability to prepare techno-commercial offers, pricing proposals, and annual contracts.
  • Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools for reporting and pipeline management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 6–8 years of experience in techno sales or technical service of inks, coatings, or specialty chemicals in the domestic market.
  • Strong network and relationships within the Indian printing and packaging industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience across regions such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi NCR, Karnataka, or Tamil Nadu is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Hindi and English; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.
