About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Independent Contractor (aka annotator) to join our growing network. As an annotator at AI Signal Lab, you will work on a range of AI training tasks — from evaluating LLM responses and labeling text to transcription, translation, and multimodal data tasks — producing the high-quality labeled data that fuels machine learning models.

This is a remote, task-based, flexible role suited to individuals who are comfortable working independently across varied content types.

What You'll Do

Review, label, and classify text, image, audio, or video content according to project guidelines

• Evaluate and rank AI-generated responses for quality, accuracy, reasoning, tone, and safety
• Perform prompt writing, response generation, rewriting, summarization, and paraphrasing tasks
• Transcribe audio or video content into written text; translate or localize content across languages
• Annotate data across task types: entity tagging, bounding box labeling, sentiment classification, relevancy rating, and content moderation

Eligibility & Requirements

• Any high-school/12th, UG/PG degree (all disciplines welcome)
• English proficiency will be helpful - A1/A2/B1/B2/C1 level (professional or expert)
• Excellent attention to detail, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking
• Ability to follow annotation guidelines accurately
• Comfort working with diverse content, including sensitive or mature material
• Access to a personal laptop/computer, headphones, and a stable internet connection
• A private, distraction-free workspace for remote task completion

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience in data annotation, content moderation, AI/ML labeling, or LLM evaluation
• Familiarity with other annotation platforms
• Proficiency in other languages is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot

Task Types You May Work On

• LLM response rating and human preference ranking (RLHF-style evaluation)
• Text classification, sentiment labeling, named entity tagging
• Image annotation: bounding boxes, scene understanding, object detection
• Audio transcription, speaker identification, code-switch transcription
• Translation, localization, and back-translation validation
• Prompt creation, response generation, and rewriting for AI training datasets
• Content moderation and safety review
• Data augmentation: paraphrasing, summarization, format transformation

Compensation & Work Details

• Pay: Competitive per-task or hourly rates (project-dependent; indicative range ₹200–₹1,000/hour for India-based contributors)
• Work Mode: Fully remote — work from home on your own schedule
• Engagement Type: Freelance / Contract — task-based, project-by-project
• Hours: Flexible; minimum availability commitments may apply per project
• Location: Open to candidates across India; multilingual contributors from any region welcome

Pay: ₹200.00 - ₹1,000.00 per hour
