The Assistant Manager – Biomedical Engineering will manage the maintenance, performance and lifecycle of medical equipment across the Company’s healthcare centres.The role requires hands-on experience with both radiology and laboratory equipment, along with the ability to provide on-site technical support and remotely manage equipment, vendors and maintenance activities across multiple locations. A strong focus on automation, centralized monitoring and equipment uptime is essential. Key Responsibilities
Manage the installation, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, relocation and decommissioning of medical equipment.
Oversee radiology equipment, including digital X-ray systems, and laboratory equipment such as haematology, biochemistry and immunoassay analysers.
Ensure timely preventive maintenance, breakdown resolution and maximum equipment uptime.
Manage equipment across multiple healthcare locations through a combination of on-site support and remote monitoring.
Maintain centralized records of equipment, warranties, AMC/CMC status, calibration schedules and service history.
Coordinate with OEMs, authorized service providers and maintenance vendors.
Develop automated alerts, dashboards and digital workflows for maintenance, calibration, breakdowns and warranty expiry.
Work with IT and MIS teams to integrate equipment data with ERP, asset-management and helpdesk systems.
Prepare technical specifications and support equipment selection, procurement and lifecycle-cost evaluation.
Support new-centre setup, equipment planning, installation and commissioning.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality and manufacturer requirements.
Develop and maintain biomedical engineering SOPs, checklists and escalation processes.
Train centre teams on basic equipment care, daily checks and fault reporting. Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 6 years of biomedical engineering or medical equipment management experience within healthcare settings, such as hospitals, diagnostic centres, laboratories or radiology centres.
At least 2 years of supervisory or team-management experience. Hands-on experience with both:
Radiology or medical imaging equipment; and
Diagnostic laboratory equipment including biochemistry, immunology, haematology and related diagnostic systems. Demonstrated experience in:
On-site equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting; and
Remote management of equipment across multiple healthcare locations.Experience managing preventive maintenance, calibration, breakdowns, service contracts and vendors.
Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Experience maintaining asset registers, service records and compliance documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and management reporting.
Strong English communication skills.
Willingness to travel within India and internationally. Nice-to-Have Qualifications and Experience
Experience managing equipment across a multi-location diagnostic or healthcare network.
Experience with digital X-ray systems, PACS, RIS, LIS or equipment-system integration.
Exposure to remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, IoMT or biomedical asset-management systems.
Knowledge of AERB, NABL, NABH, ISO 15189 or ISO 13485 requirements.
Experience in new-centre setup, equipment procurement or technical due diligence.
Exposure to international healthcare operations.
Experience driving automation or digital transformation within biomedical engineering.
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
