Post a Job

Indeed for Employers

How is Indeed different from other places where I can post jobs?

Indeed is both a job search engine and an all-in-one hiring platform. Beyond jobs posted directly by employers, Indeed also aggregates job listings from thousands of sources across the internet, including job boards, company career websites, local news sites, staffing agencies and recruiter listings. Employers can post jobs directly on Indeed for additional features, including screener questions, virtual interviews and more.

You’ll also get access to Hiring Insights, which includes data on salary, top search terms, competitive landscape and more to help you understand how your jobs compare in the market.

Where do job seekers go after clicking on my job posting?

When someone clicks on your job posting on Indeed, they’ll be able to see the full job description and a button to apply. Applicants can then upload their resume if they’re interested in the role.

Which applicant tracking systems work with Indeed?

For a full list of applicant tracking systems integrated with Indeed, visit our ATS integrations page.

If you don’t have an ATS, Indeed has technology available at no additional charge that will allow you to track applicants when advertising on our site. You can manage all candidates who apply within your Employer Dashboard. In your dashboard, you can review applications and schedule interviews. This dashboard is available for all employers who post jobs directly on Indeed.

Can I post a job for free on Indeed?

Free Job Post Policy

To help keep our hiring platform fair and effective, employers posting jobs directly on Indeed can post a limited number of free jobs per calendar month, each staying live for a set number of days*. When you reach these limits, you can then choose to sponsor additional jobs or extend the visibility of existing posts by sponsoring them, enhancing reach and connecting you with qualified candidates more efficiently.

*Terms, conditions, quality standards and usage limits apply. Availability and limits may vary by country.

How will I know when I’ve reached my free job post limit?
You will be notified during the job posting process, indicating when you’ve reached your monthly free job posting limit.

Can I post more jobs after reaching my monthly free job post limit?
Yes. You can continue posting by sponsoring your jobs to increase job visibility and attract more candidates.

Does the free job post limit only apply to jobs posted directly on Indeed?
Yes, this limit only applies to free jobs posted directly on Indeed.

How long will my free job posts stay visible on Indeed?
Free job posts are visible for a limited time. You will be notified when a free job is about to expire and can choose to sponsor your job at that point to maintain visibility.

Sponsored Jobs

What are Sponsored Jobs?

Sponsored Jobs are paid listings that help your open roles stand out on Indeed. These jobs get premium placement in job seeker search results, giving them greater visibility than free listings. And visibility matters—employers who sponsor their jobs are more likely to make a hire.

Sponsored Jobs promote your job post so it’s shown to active job seekers in search results and job alerts and offer options such as automated messages to engage top candidates at key moments of the hiring process. In some markets, additional sponsored options may be available.

When should I sponsor my job?

Sponsoring can be especially helpful when:

  • You need to fill a role quickly
  • You’re hiring for a competitive or hard-to-fill position
  • You want more visibility in a location with fewer qualified candidates

Sponsored Jobs keep your post visible longer and help connect you with more relevant applicants faster.

How do I sponsor my jobs?

To sponsor a job, start by posting it directly on Indeed. Once you add the job details, you’ll receive a recommended budget based on your job title and location.

You can upgrade to a Sponsored Job at any time through your Employer Dashboard by selecting “Sponsor Job” next to your listing. Sponsored Jobs can also be managed through select applicant tracking systems (ATS) or directly from your career site if you have an integration in place. Post a job to get started.

How many jobs should I sponsor?

This depends on your hiring goals, the roles you’re hiring for and your overall budget. If you’re hiring for multiple roles or across different locations, consider sponsoring several jobs to help boost visibility where you need it most.

Indeed can help prioritise which jobs to sponsor based on market competitiveness and candidate demand.

How do I know where my Sponsored Jobs will appear?

When job seekers search on Indeed, they enter keywords related to their skills, interests and preferred locations. Sponsored Jobs are matched to those searches and appear prominently in the search results.

Unlike free listings, Sponsored Jobs stay visible for as long as they’re sponsored, helping ensure your job reaches more qualified candidates.

How can I measure the results of sponsoring my job on Indeed?

With Indeed Analytics, you’ll get access to performance insights for your Sponsored Jobs, including:

  • Impressions, clicks and applies
  • Cost per click (CPC)
  • Total spend and apply rate

These metrics help you understand your return on investment and make more informed decisions for future hiring campaigns.

Screener questions

What are screener questions?

Indeed’s screener questions help you quickly identify applicants who meet your key requirements before you review their applications. As you create a job post, you can choose from pre-built questions tailored to your job title or add your own custom questions, allowing you to focus on the skills, experience and qualifications that matter most for the role.

Examples of screener questions include:

  • How many years of experience do you have in XYZ?
  • Do you have a secondary school certificate?
  • Do you have a valid [licence type]?
  • What percentage of the time are you willing to travel for work?

Candidates must answer your chosen screener questions as part of the application process. As you start to receive applications, you can prioritise high-quality applicants first, filtering your list to identify those that meet your minimum requirements.

Jobs with screener questions are 17% more likely to result in a hire.[Indeed data (US), Average over March–May 2023]

How do I add screener questions to my job post?

When you post a job on Indeed, the Applicant Qualifications page will show you a list of pre-made questions or you can make your own. You can use a variety of question formats like:

  • Yes or no
  • Short answer
  • Multiple choice
  • Date or number
  • Request for file upload

After you’ve selected the questions you’d like applicants to answer, you can mark must-haves as requirements. If you mark any screener questions as requirements, applicants who responded in a way that did not meet your requirements are automatically deprioritised and placed in your “Rejected” tab. You can review these applicants at any time and move them to “Reviewed” instead.

Are there any screener questions I’m not allowed to ask candidates?

Do not ask discriminatory or illegal questions, be personally invasive or otherwise violate the Indeed Site Rules.

Indeed Interview

What is Indeed Interview?

Indeed Interview allows you to conduct live virtual interviews with candidates whenever and wherever you both have time to connect. Interviewing is done through Indeed, and there are no apps to download or links to manage.

From your Employer Dashboard, you can schedule and host virtual interviews, view candidate resumes alongside job details, take notes and update candidate statuses—all in one place. It’s simple for both you and your candidates to join from a phone, tablet or computer.

Are virtual interviews on Indeed live or pre-recorded?

Indeed Interview is a platform for live video interviewing, which means both the interviewer and the candidate have to be present at the same time for the interview to take place. Once you’re connected, you’ll be able to see and speak with the candidate in real time.

Mobile recruiting

How widely used is the Indeed mobile app?

Indeed is the number 1 job search app (business category) on iPhone and Android in 25+ countries.[Business category, SimilarWeb, June 2023]

Indeed’s mobile app has been downloaded 290M times.[iTunes and Google Play, March 2024] Not only that, but 75% of candidate applications on Indeed are submitted on mobile devices.

Will my jobs appear in mobile search results?

Jobs posted directly on Indeed appear in both desktop and mobile search results.

What is Indeed Apply?

If you post your jobs directly on Indeed, your posts may include Indeed Apply, which allows you to receive applications from mobile job seekers even if your career website isn’t mobile-enabled.

Applicants can easily “Apply Now” directly from Indeed’s site or mobile app with their Indeed Resume or by uploading a new resume. If you are using Indeed Apply with an applicant tracking system (ATS) that integrates with Indeed, the completed application will appear in your ATS as usual. If you aren’t currently using an applicant tracking system, you can post your job directly on Indeed.

Employers who accept mobile applications receive up to 6X as many applicants.[Indeed data (worldwide)]

Indeed Company Pages

What is an Indeed Company Page?

On Indeed Company Pages, current and past employees can leave ratings and reviews and respond to a survey about what it’s like to work at your company. People who follow your Company Page will also get updates on new content and jobs as they become available, increasing engagement with your employer brand. Indeed Company Pages include more than 500 million ratings and reviews.

Claim your Indeed Company Page to start telling your story, and encourage employees to add reviews.

Why should I claim my Company Page?

On average, job seekers who visit your Indeed Company Page are 3.5 times more likely to apply to jobs at that company.[Indeed data (worldwide)]

Claiming your Indeed Company Page helps attract potential employees by showcasing what it’s like to work at your business. Once claimed, you can encourage employees to leave reviews, and their feedback and ratings will appear with your organic and Sponsored Jobs, giving job seekers more insight into your culture and opportunities.

How do I claim my Company Page?

If you have an employer account and have posted a job on Indeed, your Company Page will automatically be claimed and tied to your account. You can then start editing and customising your page to build your employer brand.

If you don’t have an employer account on Indeed, you can claim your Company Page by:

  1. Going to https://in.indeed.com/companies and searching for your company name.
  2. Finding your Company Page in the search results and clicking on it.
  3. Within your Company Page, clicking the “Why Join Us” tab next to the “Snapshot” tab.
  4. On the right-hand side of your page, clicking “Claim this Company Page”.
  5. Clicking “Claim” on the following page.

Who can edit my Company Page?

Once you claim your Company Page, you can customise your profile with a logo, company description, location, industry and links to your website and social channels. If you want to claim a Company Page that has already been claimed, contact us.

Can I edit content in the reviews or forum sections?

Reviews are open forums and cannot be edited or moderated by the employer. We only remove a review if requested by the review author or if the review clearly violates our Content Guidelines. We encourage companies to engage reviewers by posting a comment directly on the review. Asking current and former employees to leave reviews is also an effective way to build a positive employer brand on Indeed.

What jobs appear on my Company Page?

Your Company Page will show all of your jobs currently listed on Indeed that meet quality guidelines.
