Our organization is looking for a Nurse who can help our patients understand their rights and responsibilities. The Nurse will be responsible for checking all paperwork to ensure it was submitted properly and assisting patients with claim re-submissions. The successful candidate will also need to ensure that all patient issues regarding insurance claims, treatment paperwork and cost of care are handled properly.

The responsibilities and duties section is the most important part of the job description. Here you should outline the functions this position will perform on a regular basis, how the job functions within the organization and the title of the manager the person will report to.

  • Review patient insurance claims, paperwork and medical bills for accuracy and completeness
  • Act as the support person for patients that have any questions on insurance issues
  • Respond to patient requests for a review of their denied claim and act quickly on claims that were declined improperly
  • Maintain contact with insurance companies to try and resolve billing issues as quickly as possible
  • Monitor patient payment activities and report any significant issues to management

Nurse qualifications and skills

Next, outline the required and preferred skills for your position. This may include education, previous job experience, certifications and technical skills. You may also include soft skills and personality traits that you expect from a successful candidate. While it may be tempting to include a long list of skills and requirements, including too many could dissuade qualified candidates from applying.
